So...anyone get busted by the OPP??

If there's a "R" on the ticket, then you can be certain that the original speed is on record. That's also the "out of court settlement", so the charge can be amended back up to the original speed.

Not only that but from what I understand some cops will actually make a note to themselves to state that they lowered it and then if you fight it they'll go to court saying they already reduced it. Could be as simple as a smiley face, or a grumpy face to remind them that you were cool when they stopped you or you were an ***** and they'll make a point to go to court.

If I get a reduced ticket (once reduced from 112 in an 80 down to 95, and once let go when going 40k over) I take it as a lesson and keep my word and not push my luck and fight it as that's what I agreed to with the ticketing officer. Lesson learned, I got caught and it is what it is.

Almost got pinched a few times, but manages to "maneuver away" (take that as you will), but not many OPP up north at all. York Pork was out in full force, chased me and a couple buddies around in our classics on friday night lol

That was exactly my reasoning...
He was pretty nice about it, told me had he caught me doing 139 on the bike he wouldn't have reduced it because "most bikers have run" when he's tried to pull them over
I asked him what he thought I should do and that I was worried about my rates and he told me that before he was OPP he had 4 speeding tickets and his insurance company didn't care.
Since the court date would be in London and there may be a possibility that it may come up before my renewal date in March why even book one... he also told me it wouldn't be him who shows up but the officer that was radaring so I wouldn't even know what he looks like to check if he showed or not.
I had already been driving for 6 hours and still had 2 ahead of me so I'm just glad he made it quick and pleasant...

don't worry so much 1 ticket is nothing, I have 5....but as far as insurance is concerned I'm still clean:p

You can still book a court date and then adjourn it to push it back even more if you want to come up after your renewal. Also the ticketing officer has to be the one present in court. All you have to do is look at his officer # on the ticket and come court day just look for the # on the shoulder badge of all the pigs that are in your court room...

York Regional police say a motorcyclist clocked at 129 km/h in a 60 km/h zone was just one extreme example of 439 speeding offences issued over the Victoria Day long weekend.

In that case a 26-year-old Toronto man was charged with excessive speed and using a plate not authorized for the vehicle.

didnt get busted but I saw a **** load of OPP unmarked up by bobcaygeon and 507. it was really over the top.
Cops are concerned with the combination of 4x4s and alcohol up in that area. Long weekends and 4-wheeling go together like Friday the 13th and Port Dover (well, not that extreme). Every time the Jeep goes up there, I make sure I'm not carrying any alcohol.

Monday morning between 8 to 9am on my way to Office from Brantford to Hamilton i passed 2 Speed Traps 1 under bridge Coptown exit and other on the Link (upper Gage)... i waived as i past:p

Hahaha ... 129 is extreeeeeeeme!!

Second gear is extreme!

Got pulled over because TPS cop didn't like my helmet. Bell Drifter with DOT sticker and fully legal. Wasted twenty minutes of my time before letting me go. He was clearly disappointed he couldn't do me for an illegal lid.

I think it's a safe assumption the rider was going 129 in an 80, came up to a 60zone, didn't slow down in time and now he's paying for it.

Extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemmme!!!!!111

I went from Richmond hill to Niagara Falls, Number of cops seen: 0
on way back, I was doing 120-130km/h, blew by me like i was standing still no lights on nothing. I was going with flow of traffic in slow lane.

ALSO WTF IS WITH PPL Sitting in left lane. I honestly passed more cars in slow lane doing 120-130km/h

great weekend though

I did not go out this weekend at all mainly because I was busy but I knew had I gone out I would of got myself in trouble, lol! The long weekend is always the worst time to go riding "IF" you are planning on screwing around and/or speeding. If you are that type your best to stay off the roads those weekend.

My buddies and I were heading to the beeches and saw a hayabusa hooked up on a tow truck and cops around the rider, guessing he was lanesplitting.

Got nabbed on hwy 7 just east of Kaladar. Rare moment when no other vehicles in front or behind and speed just crept up on me and my SV1000. After writing me up the cop starts telling me about his V-Max. So I'm thinking to myself "jeezuz, as if that beast never has speed creep up without realizing it!"

That radar trap is so constant I'm surprised the OPP doesn't have a cottage built there with a cedar reinforced rustic radar trap mount on the woodstove chimney.

LOL. Yep along with them sitting in Napanee. Thats a given that they are there continously throughtout the day.

Every time I'm out with friends that have... er... radiation observation devices... we don't see cops on 7 or 41. Whenever we don't have them along, they're hiding behind the pines on some of the sweepers. Ugh.
