Dyno run videos from the FREE Dyno Day at DynoTunes, as requested!

At first glance I thought you were referring to an S1000RR, whose numbers were supposed to really high. It was only when I re read with my glasses on I figured you're talking CBR1000RR. My apologies for mis reading. 154 sounds like a good number in that case.

Hmm? I was there that day, don't recall seeing a CBR pull in. (then again I wasnt there for the entire thing. Did see the Runs 1-17 live tho.)

Nope. Unless it was an 08+ they're plenty optimistic.

You're right, though. Dynos are like races - unless it was the same day on the same dyno, the numbers are just for fun. And frankly, the dyno makes a much better tuning device than it does an indication of performance.

Hey Shaman, Could you elaborate on your reply? "dyno makes a much better tuning device than it does an indication of performance."

I need to fix my fueling on my bike too... but, its hard to test the changes on the street :D... 3rd gear pulls, or 6th gear pulls up to 11-12K Rpms would be highly illegal probably =(...

Leave it to a professional with a Dyno? (Getting FCR's set up is gonna get costly :(

Now you're confusing me. Which isn't too difficult I grant you. Is 154 rwhp for a CBR1000RR or a S1000RR? Could the real one thousand please stand up?

It's simple. Every dyno will read out a little differently, plus or minus. It could be calibration, or quality of the air in the room, the type of day etc. and how well the operator can punch in the correction numbers (if any). But for tuning the engine, you can't go wrong because whatever numbers you start and end with, if it's improved then... you've got what you wanted.

Outright HP isn't everything.
Notice how early the CBR is making its horsepower compared to the other ones.

And if you've spent any time around the RSV4, you'd know it out-accelerates the lot of them in most contests. It's called gearing, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. Power is never the outright measure of performance.

I'd like to see all the print outs from our dyno day.

Seeing the different power bands and A/F ratios is interesting.

I don't believe they were saving our files at all, just print, delete, new run. I will ask my inside contact there if they still have the files from the runs ;)

Sounds like an experienced rider :D

ME toO! I Second that

Aww? The Yamaha wasnt worth putting on this list? I wanted to see what the Crossplane had.

wow... those 2 guys running that dyno must be the stupidest people in the industy...

clearly not educated on how to operate...

no straps on the rear of them bikes... and YES i watched all the vids and most had rear peg mounts...

and even if not, theres always somewhere to strap it..

what happens if the bike jumps/kicks the rear tire out if it smokes the tire

remind me to NEVER bring i a bike i own to them clowns

It was a FREE dyno day. There was a huge lineup of bikes. They were trying to get the bikes run as fast as possible! They didn't have the time to strap down every bike!!

The only bike they strapped was the turbo CBR 929, because it REALLY needed it :)

i dont care if it was free or not...

so the saftey of the operator of the dyno, the kid leaning on it,and the bike, isnt important because of a line up of people? take about 30 seconds to put 2 straps on the bike...

just stupid

I never watched the video... seen 100s of dyno pulls and stood in the trailer at CDN SBK at Shannonville... it's really not exciting. But you're right... it is stupid.

You do realize that 13 afr is the richest on your target afr map right?
Yep, and wot starts at what, 13.2? That's too lean? lol. Lots of people run 13.7 at lower load/throttle and have no issues whatsoever :) It seems that the 13.2 to 13 at wot seems to give the best HP/Torque on the R6, at 12.8 the power starts to dip a little.

-Jamie M.

Yeah 13 at wot is fine. He might have been referring to your 13.6 around your cruising rpm's.

Ahhh. If he saw my "fuel save" map he'd probably FREAK! I've got the dual map switch set up already, but not sure how she'll run that lean with +4 on the timing :)

Here's a pic of my print out...

They strapped my bike from the rear sets (no passenger pegs).

Here's a couple dyno charts from when I had my bike mapped in '08...

Green = PC map from website (full Akro w/ aftermarket air filter)
Blue = Zero map
Red = Custom map
