New american sports touring bike

Pushrod V4...developed in concert with the guy responsible for the latest LS motors powering the Vettes and Cadillacs etc. You should hear this thing!

I , and many others are guessing it will be very expensive. Otherwise, I can't think of any streetbike I would want more than this one.

They should keep at it - work on the bike and not promotional videos for a prototype. Unless they plan on going HD route, market the crap out of crap... and build some bikes to...
And what's with crappy "rock" soundtrack - reminds me of CycleWorld radio jingles (shudder)...

Moutus has been showing and allowing a select few to test ride them, all over the USA for the past couple months.

This thing has been around for several years and is still in prototype stage. Wouldn't bet on seeing it for sale anytime soon.

I dare to say you are wrong in this case.

The bike hit the road around June this year. Yes the company has been around for about 2-3 years designing it. They already have a bunch of dealers signed and keep actively looking. They will start selling I believe in early 2012.

The company has a good financial backing as well.

I like the look of it but apart from the pushrods (wow) what else does this bike offer that the ST 1300 does not already offer?

Depending on the price point, there will be a small market for this bike as there is for the Saleen and other boutique cars but not enough to sustain this project and to provide a real ROI.

Handling is probably better than an ST.... but ya there isn't any massive revolution. Price will be important. Either they price it high to make lots of money per unit, or they go lower and make it on volume.

Its anyone's guess right now because very little information is out there.

For me personally, if it came down to this bike and other sport tourers, I'd pick it for the engine alone. That thing sounds mean and I bet that translates into a more exciting overall ride too. But that's just me personal taste.

There's a market out there for all kinds of niche bikes. I think they're using this 'sport touring' platform as a foundation. They get into the game without making a huge stink about their bike, and then they can slowly develop other kinds of motorcycles from that platform. If they make sales, they could easily turn a sport tourer into a supersport, a naked street bike, adventure bike, etc etc.

I don't think that the point of this bike is for it to be some hugely revolutionary thing. Since Buell is gone, the US doesn't have a "made in America" sportbike. This isn't a sport/tourer, as much as it's a 2-wheeled American muscle car. Think of it that way and even the engine used makes perfect sense.

Nice looking sport touring machine.
Sounds awesome. Again, the most important point will be the price.

Tjis bike will offer full-on superbike performance in a comfy american made sportbike....Think Bandit 1250, + 50 hp, and 75 lbs lighter, and you get the idea.

As far as I know, the main point of the bike is very good power/weight ratio. The engine is very light and compact for what it does (see in the links below).

It's also supposed to be very light maintenance, with easy access to major engine components.

You can do whole lot reading at kneeslider, the only website who has been following the development since very early stages (that's their niche ...)

That's a bit of a stretch I think. It's heavy and the engine is over 1600cc. It'll never have superbike performance.

Ok...let me try this...It'll offer superbike levels of acceleration....LOL

It won't likely stop or turn like a modern litrebike, but if the numbers are true (160 hp and 121 ft lbs of torque!!!) , a litrebike will not outsprint one.
And it is substantially lighter than anything else in it's class except for the Multistrada.....and the sound...ohhhh the sound!

WTF is the sound fuss? How can the sound give any indication of performance and it's not like I sleep by my idling bike.
