I got my "invoices" for speeding :D

I ride one of the slwest bike probably on this site, a garbage old KLR.

And your sig:
2004 KLR 685, Stage II headwork, cams and every other possible mod!

So why would you state you ride "one of the the slwest (sic) bike on the site", yet proudly boast that you've modded the snot out of your motor in your sig? Don't practice what you preach? REALLY enjoy fishing? Can't wait to practice everything you learned after reading that new copy of Turbonetics®™ you bought on Amazon?

As the old saying goes, you can dress up a pig, but it's still a pig.

Not fishing....it is probably the slowest bike on the site....what do you ride? I bet it will beat my bike hands down!
I used to have a Ninja.....couldn't ride it due to the plate and screws in my neck, I can't look up any more without my right arm turning to wood. Too bad it was a nice little bike.
Now who is fishing?....

Yes my bike is probably one of the fastest KLR's in North America and has more money wasted on it but that is what keeps me active......it's all part and parcel of the hobby for me. Making things go further than they were designed to go. Just like you street rockets, that's your thrill, I do adventure riding.....I like to ride to a far off destination just to see what's there.
To each their own.....

Cool story bro.

Again, you have "the fastest KLR in North America", but keep harping to everyon not to EVER excede the speed limit. Now answer the question. Don't practice what you preach?

Here we go, just another hypocrite who preaches endlessly that it is speed which kills all the time .... LOL

Oh no...name calling.....ouch.....my feelings???

I bet my 10 over is nothing compared to your sportbike practices.... I can't count the number of times I have been blown away by someone on a very strong sounding, and yes I do love the sound, sportbike.
Hypocrite, maybe if we are going to stay right on the line and not venture from it slightly.???
But now who is fishing????

I haven't had a speeding ticket or warning for 25 years if I recall correctly. I have had a ticket for rolling through a stop sign.....5 years ago.....can you say the same?

I bet my 10 over is nothing compared to..............

So it's acceptable to break the law up to your perceived threshold (10 over) but anything above that is unacceptable?

The Turbologic®™ is strong in this one.

So it's acceptable to go 200 kph over if someone else does 1 over?

I like Turbologic®™ much better than FullMotoJacketlogic®™!

C'mon, he did it too went out in kindergarten.

1) I never said what I think is acceptable. I guess your assertation of 200 kph over is for dramatic purposes.

2) I'm neither naive nor egocentric enough to think anyone else should tow the line to what I think is acceptable.

I know, strange concept on this forum.

Sorry, that Turbotrain®™ has left the Turbostation®™.

You implied that 10 kph over was unacceptable, and took a shot at turbo at the same time, that seemed mighty egocentric of you.

I think FMJ's real beef was with that random dude's hypocrisy.. The dude seems to be all gung-ho about zero-tolerance highway robbery devices but still admits to not practicing what he Turbopreaches®™

If there is zero tolerance put in place then I will be one of the first to comply with it. But as it stands now, speed is where it's at...no? I admit to going a few kms over the limit. Nothing compared to most riders or drivers now a days IMHO. I like the idea of zero tolerance, like it or lump it....it will in time be a good thing imho too. Will it hurt, not really, I'm close to the limit now any way. BUT, for some it will be like going back to a tricycle! My bike isn't meant for speed is it? Even after all the power mods I have done to it. I'm an old modder from the iceage, that is why I keep messing with this old rock simple bike. I wouldn't know where to begin modding the newer sport bikes if you gave me one.....but I would soon learn if it interested me. But as old as it sounds, I would be on the track and not on the street with it.....too many obsticals to deal with on the street trying their best to kill you where a track it's an environment designed for speed and skill.

But hey....to each their own...if it is your thrill to speed go for it....your licence, your insurance, your life....as long as it doesn't affect me directly or indirectly...go for it.

I like the idea of speed cameras personly.......yes to the few million of us who do speed and drive/ride well over the limit will be ****** for a few months. But, they too will see the benefits of them. Yes I'm getting older and well maybe wiser, I doubt that part..lol., but I like the thought that everyone will be doing the limit safely hopefully and you won't get the soccer mom's, late for workers, or just the insistant people trying to zip past and infront of you just to make up 5 minutes on their way to where-ever they're supposed to be.
I'm in....slap them up on permanent posts like in England, post up signs to where they are, put them in vans, up granny's skirt for all I care as long as they are the final word, no court fights, you earned it you pay it. Period! IMHO...if your vehicle breaks the law you pay for it period! If you stupidly lent it to someone who you know is going to break the law by their driving habits or not, that's your problem! Take it up with them, not try and weasel your way out of it in court.
Pay up....move on...learn to respect the idea of the camera and what it is designed for. They work well in England and all over Europe....get over it. Please put them up here!

If you want to speed.....there is what is called track days!

Alberta to refund $13M in speeding fines; photo-radar network in doubt
Globe and Mail--

A single faulty speeding ticket issued by an automated traffic camera in Edmonton has led the Alberta government to throw out approximately 140,000 similar fines and convictions worth $13-million and cast doubt on the province’s network of cameras.

On Monday, Alberta Justice announced it would refund every speeding ticket issued since November, 2009, by automated “speed on green” cameras, which are positioned at intersections with a high collision rate and ticket speeders.....

The review was sparked earlier this month after a ticket was issued that said a car was going 143 kilometers an hour through a city intersection, though it appeared to be travelling at the same speed as other traffic....

The city caught and deleted 26 false tickets before drivers received them,....

Would anyone be glad they had no court fight on one like this as suggested by Willys? Big brother watching and dictating everyone like, oh I don't know, let's say like a prison or communism. "You're guilty if we say so. Besides our gismos (cameras) could never make a mistake!":lmao:

I went back and reread what I wrote, and it still looks like I was asking our new bff Wylie if it's ok to break the law, as long as it's up to but not more than he does already. I don't see anything there that remotely hints at what I find acceptable/unacceptable.

I taken the liberty of quoting it above so you have the opportunity to reread it again. Once you're done, you may want to brush up on your Turbocomprehension®™ course.

Hmmm...? So we're playing this game now eh....OK...I'll bite.....no it's not OK to speed at any level....is that what you are looking for? I just speed a little bit, still an offence and unacceptable, but at what speed do you go over the limit? 10, maybe 15 or is it 20?? Maybe a bit more??? We all will get caught if there is a no nonsence system put in place. All speeding will then become unacceptable as it is now in reality.
Now what is there to whine about??? Me trolling as you put it??? Hmmm...? All I'm doing is to suggest that speeding is an offence and should be enforced better with better technology such as cameras. I still say bring them on!. Like I have said before, the day they show up, I'm on the limit not above it. That is when it's safe to do so...just incase that too will get misinterpreted.....?

Oh no!!! I called my old bike what it was....Damn...what am I supposed to call my present bike.....that would please the masses? It's a Kawi...no? A KLR...? List everything done to it ...? Maybe the serial number...or some silly specs from the factory? Maybe the cc size..?

Oh..I know....I should have said something like Ninja 500es...is that correct? Maybe 500ES...? I know...what it actually was a Ratbike....a franken bike...all pieced together after the original owner destroyed the front end...?

Damn I didn't know it was so important to call it by certain names etc...?

Oh well my bad....oooops...lol

OUCH...another shot meant to hurt my feelings....!!!!

Grow up sonny.....personal attacks are old and tiring.....

If you want to speed go ahead. I'll be one of the first to laugh when you get burned with a heavy wieght fine and ins. costs.

So, back to sensible posting....? or are we content on personal jabs???

Riding in Europe is the best in terms of freedom... The freedom to speed (with minimal penalty), the freedom of not having to worry about your insurance going up for traffic violations, the freedom to park literally wherever you want in the city core, the freedom to lane split, use bus lanes etc. etc. etc...

Dude... this is a public forum, so I can't list my driving offenses, but let's just say in Canada, my bike would have been impounded numerous times and I would have been broke paying 10's of thousands of dollars in fines and insurance would have been unaffordable for anything more than a scooter.

I love Canada, I love the roads, but having cops hiding in driveways & making u-turns to chase you down at dangerous speeds for a freaking speeding ticket is just something I don't have to worry about anymore living in Europe.

I'm surprised chiller got some speeding tickets on a bike! I've been riding all over Europe and have NEVER received one on a bike since they usually take the photos from the front.
