In just one hour, 10 out of 12 in the pack busted for street racing.

Where was it in Holland and other places where they took away all limits and rules and fatalities decreased? Less rules less fatalities..... hmmmm.

So you want no speed limits in this Country? Half of the people can't drive in a straight line.

Took away rules? Can't be Holland. That country is stringent on even minor speeding and issues more speeding tickets per driver capita than just about anywhere else in Europe. Coincidentally, Holland (and Sweden) have lowest per km driven fatality rates in Europe.

O yes the old excuse... yes it works in Europe but will never work in Canada. lol North Americas are a different species of human.

Have you ridden/driven in Europe.

And no, a weekend at your aunties in Poland does not count.

Saying it will never work in Canada because people can;t drive in a straight line is not an excuse to have artificially low speed limits. If people suck at driving, require more training and have driving tests that test driver compatance vs the joke of robot driving tests we have now.

The fact that we do not require skid training in Canada is a JOKE

Skid training requirement = save way more lives than 10 172 laws put together. Ya but that would make sense.... but sense is stupid. Lets have people not know how to drive and PUNISH everyone.

Yes the licence requirements/testing for both cars and motorcycles in Canada is broken. You can change the criteria for new people tomorrow morning who are applying for their tests, but you still have an entire population of 21-65 year old people to deal with.

Retest everyone over a period of 5 years

Yes you are correct, but the dangerous drivers are those under 21... oh and over 65!

and before someone jumps off, yes there are dangerous drivers of any age, I am reffering to the demographic of stupidity

Log jam.

Plus have you ever seen some of these driving instructors drive, man they are the worst. You technically have the blind teaching the blind how to drive.

After firing all the current driving instructors we now have to fix.

Lane discipline, faster traffic overtakes on the left, not the way it is now where any lane can be a fast lane.
Remove all driving aids from cars, no abs p/s t/c etc etc.
Automatic cars have to be banned.
All LHD cars also to be banned, cause the correct way is the steering wheel to be on the right hand side of the car ;)
Yearly inspections on cars and bikes to make sure they are safe, have you seen the state of some of the old beater on the road nowadays???
Anyone caught texting, applying make up, eating food, masterbating while driving should be shot at sun down.

I agree, most of the younger crowd on two wheels nowadays seem to be more mature than my generation was.

Some of the biggest hooligans on two wheels are 30 yrs and over.

But as i mentioned to you before in another thread, experience will most time win over skill while riding the streets of Ontario.

Is there not a financial incentive to keep as far away as possible from the line marking HTA172 territory when you are out riding or driving? Why would you want to come close to that line and risk being cut by it?

Your statement is absolutely correct. But this doesnt change the fact that the current system provides officers with a clear incentive to lay as many tickets, be they HTA172 or not, as possible while there is no counterbalance to ensure that there is sufficient basis for issuing the ticket. Is this even a metric considered when conducting performance reviews of officers? Or is it simply the number of tickets handed out that is considered? (i.e. # of convictions made relative to tickets handed out?)

Of course.... it would be hard to do this in a place with high congestion. However, the basic concept may be applicable. The less laws there are the better things get.... i.e. keep it simple.

Thats pretty interesting. would really like to see that.

On second thoughts it has kind of been tried in a very small way with cross streets in many small towns before if you think about it. I know in Kingston the biggest problem we had was with cross streets WITHOUT 4-way stop signs. There were accidents every day at many intersections until they were changed to 4 way stops.

I live on a road like this and drive it daily. If there's ever a cop sitting beside my house when I get home, I would likely be walking to work for the next week at least. Hopefully it doesn't happen because 54 km is an awfully long walk... oh wait, it's longer if I can't take the 401 :P

You even have a BIG flashing radar-activated 40 kmph speed sign just up the road from where you live. That, and a driveway right at that sign where the Wellington County OPP like to sit and beam west-bound and north-bound traffic. Which begs the question, why risk it?
