easy answer.......no
Actually. A 2 bros system will reduce the weight of your bike by 10 pounds. Which is something. Especially on a small displacement bike. Throw in a lithium battery for another 5 pound shaving. Thats 15 pounds right there. That is something.

I want to put a new exhaust and remove the license plate mounts on my cbr 250r. But, I keep hearing that everyone upgrades the next year to something more powerful and I'm afraid the money I spend on this bike will go to waste if I upgrade next year. I love my bike even-though it's not as fast as I was hoping. Help.... :S
Don't listen to this guy, do what you want to your bike. An exhaust and re-jet is a good idea if that's what you want. According to him you should have bought a hayabusa and looked cool instead of actually learning how to ride first. Run before you walk?Don't bother....you already wasted your money on a 250, no point wasting extra money to mod your 250. Maybe it's just me but I always get a kick out of the guys with a fully done up 250, wearing full racing leathers. Did they not realize it was a 250? To OP, you just bought your bike and you're already talking about upgrading. Why didn't you get the bike you wanted in the first place? You do realize you don't have to push a SS to it's limits? You can ride it at your own pace until you get comfortable.PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!Please do not waste your money on 125/250 if you plan on upgrading. Yes, seriously. I'm not making the point that your not a man if you have a 250, I'm saying that like OP stated, he already wants to upgrade. So he should have man'd up and got what he wanted and not been scared or brainwashed by all you to waste his money. Brand new bike and he already wants to upgrade.....does that make sense to you. It doesn't to me.
And lol being a girl I will not man up...;p
Point taken....however, i believe you understand the point I'm trying to make.
My bike has about five times the displacement of yours and an additional four cylinders - and it's pretty quiet too. I'm okay with that and so are my neighbours. You'll find that loud exhaust appeals to fewer people, than quiet. Spend some time on the highway with a loud exhaust - either yours or an adjacent rider - it gets "old" pretty fast.Well, I don't expect it will make it noticeably faster but it will at least sound better. I keep getting the "wow your bike is pretty quiet" jibes and it's embarrassing to rev when you sound like a lawnmower. lol
