Follow Along: 600rr to California

Screw you, Ontario, for not being this nice.

I kind of wanted to do the Nelson "HA-HA" as I passed by. I dont think the state patrol would have appreciated that though.

Just ilustrating

You may be riding home through a snowstorm, but... I'm still super-jealous of your trip and adventure.

Good luck with the home stretch.

Yeah same here, I don't think funds will allow me to do my James Bay trip this year but I am going to rebuild my head over winter and replace the accelerator pump and then my bike will be trustworthy enough to do one of these trips next year. I will probably do it a bit later, maybe start of June.

Looking forward to seeing the entire route plotted. Don't forget to send me that map when you get back!

Thank you.

Edit: Do you have an up to now mileage count?

I will have an approximation when i get home from my odometer. Havent beentracking on gps because my charger is broken and i cant run it all day. Ill get back to you on it when i get home since My speedo/odo is in miles rightnow.

I had breakfast with an advrider this morning. He recommended the best route for me to avoid I-80 and showed me the webcam. Note...this was the BEST route.

That's Just messed up.

I hope things will be nice and cleared up around the start of June. Is that weather normal or what's going on there, anyway?

Does it help to tell you that it was 28 Celsius and sunny almost all day here?

Awesome trip. You'll never forget it as long as you live.

I made it to some grungy little motel. Smells funny, Internet slow as hell, looks like a shack from the inside. Oh well it was $35.

My goal was to make it past Chicago incase there was going to be DVP-like traffic around but I was getting tired and figured it was a good idea to stop for the night. 900kms to go!

That weather is not normal. It was warm the day before and the day I arrived, we got crapped on.

I went on this trip to find some warmth and sun! It seems like all I was getting was cold...except for Arizona. Even California was relatively cold!

When I go to Illinois today, it started to warm up. By warm up I mean 10 degrees and I was so happy because I was able to turn my heated gloves off :D

What kind of mileage are you getting per tank? How many Liters is your tank and what are some ranges you've gone on a single tank?

I've been filling up every 180-200kms on this trip because I've been in situations where I've almost been empty...like out in the middle of the California desert.

The most I've ever got on a tank of gas is 260kms before the low fuel light started blinking.
