Well consider dinner is being planned you better make it

Based off the spot data ... is dinner being kept warm? OP - hope you didn't run into any snags to delay you.

That spot thing is very cool and will definitely consider it for any future road trips.

Ummm I noticed you low sided on the left side of your bike.... I was looking through some pics and realized was like... HEY! Wasn't your Gas Can on that side...? What happened to that?

Dinner ended a while ago. Considering he was first supposed to be here on Tuesday, then yesterday, now tonight - dinner is very cold (but the mold is pretty :) )

Well it seems like he is on Orange County now. Is he gunna stay at ur place tonight?

He is staying here tonight. We were such hosts, served him pizza :) Tomorrow will be more home cooked but hey at 11:30 p.m. my cooking skills aren't the greatest.

Finally made it to California! Today was the most exhausting ride I've ever ridden. 30+ degrees in the desert heat zaps your energy pretty fast. But it was worth it...

More to come tomorrow.

Damn dude, it seems like those tires are holding up pretty well, even tho they look like sport tires. What are they?

I have some Pirelli Angels/Demons for my trip, those should be plenty

The tires are Michelin Power Pures. I'm likely going to need new tires when I loop back to Colorado before my slab. Theres about 30-40% left. We'll see though.

Staying in California today. Gotta do some maintenance on the bike including oil change and unfortunately valve clearances. I adjusted the valve clearances before I left but I adjusted them too loose so they're making a lot of noise. Also, because its too loose, the timing is a little off and I dont know how long the valves will hold out because of the constant hammering. Should have made sure before I left Toronto but oh well.

You know you're on a long trip when A. valve clearances are adjusted after a week of driving and B. tires need to be replaced mid way through the trip!

Although, I guess if they were loose before trip, it would warrant some adjustment now.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we need pictures@!!!

+1 and vids

The problem with taking pictures is that it cuts into your riding time.... or adds more time to your trip. :D

That's one cool thing about the go-pro is you can set it to take pics every 5 seconds or so... so you can get some nice shots in the twisties.

I have a lot of pictures and videos but I just havent had the time to go through all of them. I'll try to post some tonight.

It turns out my camera lens isnt broken. Its just a bit rough when trying to zoom/focus because of all the sand thats in there. If anyone has any tips on how to clean it, it would be appreciated.

I ride with the camera around my neck so I shoot as I go...which is why you see a lot of pictures taken in the middle of the road. Which is also why it got all messed up when I crashed. I turn on the gopro when I hit the twisties or something interesting.
