I wondered how I got that wear pattern on my tire. Then I realized it was from the windy day when the crosswinds pushed me into the median rumble strips. Yes....thats how much I was leaned over...

Well, Mother's Day is fast approaching, you can send this home in lieu of real flowers.

Awesome switchbacks

Did you end bringing your laptop?

Once you are back would it be too much trouble to plot your trip on a Google Map or somehow can we see the entire trip plotted by SPOT? I can only see last 50 updates at a time. As I have a trip planned for this summer I think I may do this next year. Would be nice to have your input so I can follow a similar route/choose different where necessary.

Thanks and great pictures!

Yes I ended up bringing the laptop, I just stuff it in the dufflebag that I put my clothes in.

I can export GPS locations from my account which keeps track of the points for 21 days. If I remember to, I will export it when I get home.

I also have a google maps document with my whole route. If you're looking for that I can send it to you when I get the chance.

Don't you love the lack of traffic in the CO mountains? Plus you can save a lot of time between mountain ranges if you can see for miles on end. :D

Hwy 50 was awesome. Amazing roads, amazing scenery. I made it up a mountain pass and boy was it cold. 4km above sea level. My camelback was unusable because the lines froze

Heading out from lunch now.

Its about 15 degrees in the town im in right now. Nice change.

Riding the million dollar highway now!!! Back to freezing temps

What I am interested in knowing is if you remember or can keep track of the longest stretch of road with no gas stations is? What sort of range do you get on the CBR? I am wondering if there are any long stretches of service free roads on your trip?

I hate you. You're living my dream. Following your travels, post up lots of pics plz.

U should tell that ****** job to shove it and join me on the East Coast. U should do these things before u get married and have kids. After u have a business, kids and a wife, u will never get the chance. Just saying... :D

Wheelieboy, u won't happen to be interested in going to the East Coast when u get back would u?? I would be honoured to have someone of your experience on the trip.

Another question, how did u strap down that gas can? Does it sway back and forth when u ride?

Great pics and keep up the great ride.

Enjoy Monument Valley - It's awesome!... but careful not to go on native land looking for that elusive picture or perfect campsite - some places (as far as I recall) you would need to be with a local Navajo.
