Zip your bags up.

I rode home with my iphone on my back seat, it was in a survivor case so it did kinda stick to the seat well, slid down under my butt 10 minutes into my ride.. Realized on the 401 there was something on my seat, imagine my surprise reaching back and finding my iphone under my *****. Stuffed it in my jacket and carried on, lucky one there. I got a ram mount for it after that...

The one reason I choose the ogio back pack is it zipped from behind, so it would never drop anything other than maybe very small items even if the zipper was not done up.

I had my seat cowl fly off on the Gardener, I guess I didn't push it down hard enough for it to click into place. I pulled over went back with a buddy and ran across all the lanes to go get it, against his advice...

I actually didn't give a **** about the seat cowl, I just wanted my limited edition Oakleys which were still safe in the case. I got the glasses and about four feet away was the cowl, which I picked up just because...Ran back across got on our bikes and rode off just as the OPP officer passed us :lmao:. Good thing he didn't see any of what I did...

I've never had this happen, but then again I'm nuts about checking to make sure they're done up well before heading off.

If your bag has string zipper pulls, you can loop them through each other a few times to keep them from moving.

I stopped using the top pouch on my tank bag, I would always forget to zip it up after stops. First instance I watched my phone (no case) fall out at about 130 on the 407. Pulled over and got the phone and battery, back piece was nowhere to be found. screen was cracked in the top corner, but overall the phone was still in ok condition, and still works.

One week later heading down QEW I had my wallet in that pouch, it decided to jump ship. Gas light came on so I couldn't backtrack myself, but had a friend take me to retrace my steps in his car, found my wallet in the middle of QEW, only thing missing was my debit card, that was cancelled and new card re-issued that day. After that I stopped using that pouch for anything vital.

2 months later I was given buck and doe tickets to sell for my friends wedding, and put them in that pouch. needless to say I was showered in tickets. That was the last time that pouch was ever used

See and I like my top pouch on my tank bag because I can see the zipper and always know it's closed. Stopped having the backpack issue last year when I bought a mach 5. If you out one of those on and don't notice it's not zipped up you're clearly speshal ;)

If anyone finds remnants of a grey Hugo Boss suit strewn across the QEW in Oakville - that's mine. LOL. Amn expensive way to learn to zip down to the side, but lesson learned!

Size 42 regular? I thought it was Karma, turns out it was Hugo Boss.

Still have my wallet on the 400. Some cager keep Honking & shouting at me. I was like what the f is his problem. Then he told me my wallet flew out of my man purse. Had to renew my credit cards & bank card

my ipod and go-train monthly pass flew out my pocket on the highway lol

OP..that really sucks.and just a big pain in the *** . The worst things that flew out off my pak was some underwear my favorite hat and some t shirts...all down Yonge street back in 1993 on my RZ350.

I use tiny carabiners to lock the zipper pulls together for my backpacks/tankbags. Shiny red so they stand out against the black/grey bags, visual reminder to secure them.

Forgot to zip up my tankbag after crossing the border back into Canada and noticed some papers hitting me in the face, I realized it was my passport so I had to pull over and retrace my steps on the QEW for about 30 minutes to find my passport which had been run over several times by then. It's still good though!

That's a good idea. Thanks. :)

Make sure you zip up your bag to one side, not at the top in the middle.

This. Most have a tendency to zip both zips up to the top middle of their bags. Wind will catch and unzip them under speed. Zip both down to one side.

Or use a cargo net and lash bag/cargo to seat. - a good sized tankbag is actually pretty handy once you start using one. It looks uncool but you really appreciate it after awhile.

That sucks! I didn't lose any thing from a bag, the only time I've left them open has been when its empty thankfully. I did have a crappy ignition cylinder on my RZ, and i hit a massive.... Not pot hole but a depression i guess, on avenue, and when i went to park the bike, there was no key. I found it. It had been run over a few times...... Replaced the cylinder.

Read this earlier and then forgot to zip up my tank bag earlier tonight. Cost me a pack of smokes and a Buff, but thankfully the keys stayed. :p
