Z1000 or CB1000R for $10,000 possible?

very unlikely

but i do know someone selling a mint 07 1000rr for half that price :D

I seriously would but insurance will rape me pre 30. My only choice is a 600 if I go the sport route but I really don't want a 600 for the streets after riding one.

You have a board now?
Which one are you running, Jamie?
I meant the ones I'm a member of ;) trackfanatics.ca, FB Motorcycle Distraction, FB Scarborough Group Rides and FB East End Riders.

State farm will insure ya for $184/mo, you can even put it on your credit card monthly! Not sure if that's what you consider rape or not ;)

How far under 30 are ya? You have your full G? When did you get your G1?

Gather all those answers up and call Katherine, (866) 930-1221. Tell her Crazy Jamie sent you.

Funny that your insurance company refers to you as crazy Jamie. They know about all your hooliganism?

My driving record is probably much worse than yours ;)

lol. My friends getting a good deal is all I work for ;)

I'm 25 now and got an at fault on me. That's why I assumed supersports were out of the question but I never looked too far into it, but if this IS true....

You may have very well marked me an early grave stone as I have no self control at all lol

EDIT: And if this is true, Paul, you may have a customer. Though I'd want to look into more 1000s as well but I've heard Hondas ARE the most solid out of the 4. I'll call Monday and find out.

EDITEDIT: I called that #, the agent is Greg Louis? Obviously they're not open today.

1. I got an at-fault and two tickets, so your rate would probably be better than mine ;)

2. You won't believe how easy it is to ride a 1000. It's not like a 600 where you have to spank it constantly to get anything out of it. After you scare yourself a few times on the 1000 you realize how much power is on tap, that it doesn't care what gear you're in, etc, and it becomes much calmer to ride. You pick your spots better ;)

3. Pauls bike is mint. Well maintained, flawless condition. Do you want to roll the dice with a complete stranger? One I was looking at recently, only had 13,000km's on it. Chain looked horrible, asked the owner, "when was the last time you lubed it?" ... "3 months ago"... "Oh, so you haven't been riding it much?"... "No, I ride it lots!" ... "How many times have you lubed it?"... "Three or four...". Yikes. I took out the dipstick and the oil wasn't even up to the low mark, and looked pretty sludgy for only 13k on the clock... "When was the last time you changed the oil?" ... "They said they'd do it for me with my first service at 20,000km's" ... LOL?

4. Yep, she works in greg lewis's office. She's an expert on motorcycle insurance, only talk to her. Her e-mail is katherine@greglewis.ca

^Damn dude, I'm getting that feeling I got years back when I kissed a girl in high school. Sounds kinda gay but if you're right about this...

YAYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And my gf is reading this thread going "bad idea" lol)

But yeah I am interested in Pauls but it won't be a while till I have the cash (January - April, some where in there). I know what to look for now tho so I just wanna scope things out. When I bought my GS500F the chain was so stretched that it had 108 links instead of 110. I didn't find out till a year later thinking I was mechanically retarded for being unable to tighten the chain...well, it was so stretched it was short two links -_-

Yikes, short two links AND stretched so far the adjusters were maxed out... surprised it even held together :)

Check the reviews do yourself a favour.

the cb1000r is not very great this year. Z1000 seems to be the best bang for the buck.

Cb is lacking in a few key areas.

I have seen 2010's going for 8$k on kijiji

or pony up and get a streetfighter 848 used for 12000 if you can find any.

Yeah I've checked them, they all seem to go around:

CB100R = Slightly slower, more "nimble" feel.
Z1000 = Faster, heavier feel.

I've thought of the StreetFighter. As badass as it looks, I'm a bit iffy about owning a Ducati while my career hasn't fully taken off incase the maintenance ends up kicking my ***. I know some will argue that it isn't expensive, but I've asked the dudes at Rosey Toes and they told me it DOES cost more. I'll take their word because they've never done me wrong.

In the future though....definitely looking into a StreetFighter.

I found a 2010 CBR 1000RR in Watertown for $8500 brand new. There were three 2011s there for $9500 each as well.

Yeah I know it's not what you asked...

Oh, and I wouldn't be me if I didn't point out that the V60 Tuono 1000 Factory is being sold for $8500 brand new if you can find one... it kicks the butt of either of those bikes in so many ways...

Are you ******** me? I will call the contacts Jamie provided later to see insurance quotes.

You guys better not be pulling my leg...but as I said, you guys also might have dug me an early grave lol No self control ftw!

Why would I do that? IIRC it was Caprara in Watertown. They had a couple ABS versions for $10500 as well.

I don't remember getting anyone a good deal on a CB or a Z........

Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
