How likely is it for me to get either bikes for $10,000 in cash? The MSRP is 13,000~ on both. Anyone got stories of getting extremely good deals from dealerships?

And of course, this is referring to new bikes.

I think caboose has a connection....his buddy got one for cheap. Maybe it was kellen.

Money talks; especially if you are looking at getting a '12 that they couldn't move, $10,000 cash in hand should have you walking out of the dealership with a new set of keys. I've seen it before with cars, can't imagine it would be any different with bikes. Just remember, be firm on the price, and don't be afraid to walk away if they say no, good chance they won't let you out the door

yea...the ZX6s at Kahuna for 9200 bucks.

FYI, you still pay tax on a $10,000 bike, unless you expect the dealer to sell a $13,000 bike for $8700

I don't think you have a good chance getting one for 10k otd without connections. Can't hurt to try though. Maybe the dealer gets more desperate later into the off-season?

Quite a jump from the GS500 !!!

I'd get a liter SS if I could but...insurance wants to kill be before I'm 30 lol

We still gotta go for a ride, the guy w/ the V-Strom rides a bit too. He usually parks on the left side if you look at the racks from TEL.

I'm asking because I see at Brampton power sports a lot of 13k bikes going for 11k. And @ the tax question, if I've got 10,000 in cash on me that's the exact amount I'm willing to spend. I guess I'll give it a shot when I get it at all the stores and if it's a no go, I'll save up another 1,000 and just keep going from there lol

lol...
If I'm selling a $13,000+ car and a customer offers me $10,000 all in, I would not hesitate to walk him...
Don't think because you're putting $10K "cash" on the table, that you would get a $3K+ discount.
It's such a retarded theory, I'm not sure why people even bother.

Just the other day I had a guy offer me $15K "CASH, RIGHT NOW" for a $24K truck, I laughed in his face and told him to bring a certified cheque for $24K instead.
The fact that you have cash, doesn't mean ****...

There isn't a lot of profit to be made on brand new vehicles, therefore there's very little room for negotiation.
New bike/car dealerships depend on their service/accessories/parts dept etc.

I know there are some blow-out deals, like those ZX-6's from Kahuna, but that doesn't happen very often and I wouldn't hold my breath for anything similar.

Last year I negotiated around $13,000 OTD for my buddies z1000... that was pretty easy but any farther discount would have been a stretch

I don't get the whole "cash talks" thing. When I'm selling a used car or something I don't care if you give me cash today or get a loan and give it to me tomorrow. I'm not going to take 40% off the price just to get it exactly this minute.

I don't see why a dealership would care either. If you finance it they still get their money and they get some extra because they can tack on a "finance fee" and other related bull.

I've heard these incredible discount stories for years - i know quite a few owners and i have yet to hear someone close to me get one of these deals. The internet is full of these people that score miraculous deals...

Personally, i love the ppl that undercut me on my sale price when i sell a bike, and they have to reinforce their offer by saying "CASH!!" How else did they think they would pay for it? I ain't a store. Oh, and often times, they also add the word "bro" to the offer.

Exactly, financing a vehicle through a dealership usually puts more money in their pockets.
Finance fees + kickbacks from the finance company...
