YorkU Parking..****ing theives

When I go to York, I park my bike at Seneca along with 30+ bikes. First time I took the bike, I came back to find a bolt missing (the one that screws the plastic around the cluster to the sideview mirror. Kinda ****** but I thought theres not much I can do. Now yesterday I come back to my bike, I see that the screw on the right side, (the one that holds the side plastic piece you need to remove to get to the battery) is missing. Seriously, what the ****, people going around stealing screws now?? Theres about 4-5 Ninja 250r's parked there so theres a fat chance it's of them. Don't really care about buying new screws because they're probably dirt cheap, but it's a hassle and annoying.
I wish I could find out who did it, so I could see the look on their face when they see their bike on it's side with cum smeared all over the handlebars and a pound of **** smeared onto the engine. Maybe some piss on it as well.
Is it common for this kind of thing to happen? Doesn't look like theres much I can do to prevent it.. it's happened twice in 2 months now and its ****ing annoying.

i parked at yorkdale 2 weeks ago someone stole my frame slider on the right side. Pain in the arse now that I have to buy a pair for just one.
seems like stealing smaller parts is the new in thing with the theives

My GF has lost about 4 bolts off her Ninja 250 for the fairing and for that black plastic piece that covers the sides under the seat.

I tell her to just get a real bike.

:p jkjkjkjk... srs tho, they probably vibrated loose. Use Blue loctite.

That sucks man, I always worry about that when I leave my bike unattended. but don't be whacking

I doubt they vibrate loose because I went around my bike putting Loctite on most of the screws over the winter when I first bought it. Also tightened them down. They only seem to go missing after the bike is parked at York (which is the only time the bike is out of my sight for extended periods of time). Either way, not much I can do about it... I was just curious if this seems to be a common problem and looks like it is.

Personally i never thought stuff like this happened because it's never happened to me ever before, many years running, but all of a sudden this year its happened to me as well twice, i guess 2012 is not the end of the world, but end of every aspect of what it used to be a human!

someone stole my chain adjuster bolts and plate for my supermoto on the ends of my swingarm and the other was half done, must have seen me coming from far, how i know, i always check my bike before i leave it somewhere and before i get back on it, it's a habit once i experienced a bad situation which could have been avoided if i saw the problem before i got on, so now its a habit.

I bet its someone who rides and parks their 250 there with yours. our neighbours stole our blue bin with our number on it and then put that same box out the next week....people are stupid, specially cheap people and theives, just park your bike and watch it from inside without any gear on like a normal student, and you'll catch the culprit red handed.

I would leave a note on each of the bikes saying you're on to them. Problem is, they're probably on this forum too!

Also, check out the other bikes and see what they are missing.. then expect your bike to loose the same part..

or perhaps is someone who doesnt park there all day or doesnt ride their 250 in...?

Talk to security @ Seneca. There are cameras that point at the bike rack area. They might be able to help you find the culprits.

edit: just talked to security. no cameras directly aimed at the bike area... yet. If enough people mention it, they can look into adding them. If anything does happen to your bike, report it to security.

LOL! This happened to me when I was living in waterloo.

I emptied the recycle bin on their door step, and put it back in our garage.

Thanks, I didnt know there were cameras there. I'm gonna park right in the view of the camera from now on, and if anything else goes missing I'll be going to security.

The last time I inquired into Camera's capturing something like that I found out you needed to have a warrant issued to have them reviewed.
They will not release the content due to privacy laws apparently. Couldn't hurt to ask though.

I had my left side cover bolt missing two weeks ago...i thought someone stole it, but then I was just being paranoid...if you're gonna take a screw, why not just take the whole cover with it...My guess was that i didn't tighten the bolt enough when i took it out of storage. Meh...bought 3 new bolts, have 2 spares just in case my loctites fail
