Hey. You have to pay it or they will withhold YOUR transcript and diploma. People think that if they are not registered that you don't have to pay. Which is true but if they run your plate (which costs them money) be sure as hell they are going to make it stick if they can, it's York after all. They passed something a while back with senate or something. They withheld mine for a year until my pops paid it. No lie.
 
What I'm pretty sure they do is cross check the last name. If they get a hit they will send it to the OPP, or whatever. I think it costs them 20 for the check and if they get a common address they will attach it to your account. Just another way those f%(k A$$e$ have figured out to screw us. I'm pretty sure if my uncle was on campus got drunk and broke a lamp they would find a way to add that to my bill too!

Look into it though, and please don't pay unless you absolutely have to!

you'll get letters in the mail every month, and on the back it does say something about sending creditors after you if you don't pay...
 
So I hae my enrolment appointment June 10th and was wondering if I could park anywhere for free...

Is that seneca building still good to go?
 
So the rule at York is that if your bike is smaller than 599 they will give you a ticket.
If it's greater than or equal to 599 they wont.

No need to pay (they don't have a transcript to hold - which is the only reason you'd pay, anyways).

BUT, I wouldn't let it add up in case that crap where they go after your credit rating is actually true.
 
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm riding up to York in the morning to get some work done, and I'm going to be there most of the day. I'm not actually a student at York, so from what I'm understanding is if I get a parking ticket there I should be okay since it won't prevent me from renewing my license. Is that still the case? Or did they change that at some point? Also, is this spot still alright to park at (as in a ticket free zone):

yea you'll be fine with that spot, they can't give any tickets there...
york tickets are private, wont be an issue with renewing your license just graduation status (if its under your name).

Those jerks found my secret spot today... It was so good and so convenient for 4 months, now that guy had to ruin it for me...
