York U parking

Yeah, I was thinking there should be a motorcycle club at yorku since there are a lot of us there.

Sounds like a good idea. York riders seem to be more vocal than u of t & ryerson students.

I'm down to help you get it started if you really wanna get it poppin'.

I don't Monday getting the ball rolling. Somewhat familiar with the process. I'll talk to a few ppl to see what the best way tom go about doing this. Find some adequate club space.

lol how do you get monday from mind (if that was what you were intending on saying)?

Space is never hard to find - there's ALWAYS an empty lecture room, even at the busiest time of the day. Even if we do it unofficially, it still seems fines. The only benefit are the perks of having a club/membership. We can meet up this week and discuss it. PM me with some details when you get them!

Damm iphail, I meant mind, not Monday lol... Stupid thing auto corrects too much.

I'm graduating this year, but I group ride would be a great way to end my university career.

I'm the dude with the 84 Honda CB650 Nighthawk.

I see that one quite a bit. Nice looking bike you have there. How does she handle?

Great idea for the club! It's true, their are tons of perks having a club, we can eat pizza and watch movies while the university pays for both.

somewhat true. Trying to deal with YFS is a nightmare. If you think there is drama on GTAM... it's nothing compared to YFS.

I left York in 2001. My couple years, I'd line up forever to pay an insane amount to park in the unreserved lots a million miles away from anywhere. Then I decided to just park, and pay tickets as they came. For the last three years, it worked out. I always wound up parking close to wherever I needed to be, and the amount I paid in tickets never came close to the cost of a parking pass.

Just wondering if others have done that.

hey guys, i have class from 7pm-10pm this summer, do u think it is safe to park at seneca at night?

I thought I got my transcript when YorkU mail came today...turns out they're not releasing it 'til I pay the $45 for my "failure to display permit" for my car. Nothing about the bike ticket that I got though...so it looks like I'm home free with that - as long as you make sure to NEVER register your bike with them.

Also, a little bit off topic...but I'm hoping to get a motorcycle club at YorkU started for this coming year. We'd have a spot to meet up, kick it, have some food, whatever... right before we head out for a ride. What's great is that some expenses can be paid for by the school. It would also be a good idea to bring up the parking issue...or at the very least, reduce the rates for bike permits by a lot more (since we take up significantly less space) and many other reasons. I think I already have an angle to go with, so we might be able to get some support.

At $100 bucks a pop, it only takes 3-4 to break even. It seems to be REALLY easy to get ticketed. You could very well be spending more.

Most likely. Also, at night I just parked beside the bicycle racks and never got a ticket. Somewhere up there ^ I believe Link said that they're off at a certain time. Either that, or they're just a lot more lenient at night.

sheet... i didn't know! but i am down for whenever there is one!

I'm hoping to do the forks next week.

Sorry to get a bit off-topic guys. The reason I mentioned the club in this thread is because it's a lot bigger/probably has more york students subscribed. I'm serious about getting the club started. I'm going to look into it and hopefully have it going on by the time school starts/early on in the semester.

Thanks, surprisingly well for a 26 year old bike.

Umm... So I get a $160 fine in the mail today, under my dad's name for parking tickets.

The car was never registered with them... do I have to pay it?
