York U parking

How 'bout behind the chemistry building?
Sorry if I baited out your spot, whoever's parking there.

& Also, does not having to pay for a ticket from the parking meter apply inside the campus as well?

But yeah, I asked a ticketer & she said that Seneca at York's an untouchable spot for them.

Does any one have an experience parking behind computer science and engineering? I see more and more bikes being parked there (there are bicycle racks there and it's under a roof)

nvm I found a thread in which someone got ticket in there:(.

i would only park there if i needed to do something really quick...

I got ticketed at Vanier college. Parking ********** are going on power trips and ticketing everyone uncluding their grandmothers.

Stick to Seneca.

lol I think you're right on that one, I was pulling away yesterday from that strip where all the bikes park somewhere near Seneca/Tel forget the name (near Pond Rd entrance) and as I rode off (sensibly I might add) a lady was giving out parking tickets gave me an evil look... :( She should be thanking me, i'm doing the environment a favour!! :D

ah.. this thread always comes alive..

some ppl part in the weirdest places. sometimes i'm wondering how far in someone had to ride to park there. e.g. between bethune college and rez on campus walk.

also seen the white bike at tait.

sorry to stir up an old thread...what about on the tait mackenzie feildhouse side or near Curtis lecture halls...i usualy just post up in the parking lot opposite the underground lot thats on the main campus walk....

Aren't yorku tickets just issued from the university? If you never registered your vehicle with them theoretically they have no way of making you pay unless they tow your bike (unlikely)

well they can always track your plates and they hold your degree until you pay off your debts

I did bother, but this thread is about Seneca at York - not Seneca's Newnham campus, which is what I'm asking about

logic dictates you should make a thread specific to seneca at newnham campus to get the best results. Anyways, it's not about seneca at yorku, it's about yorku which includes seneca

You can always park on top of central square. There was/is an old cruiser parked in one of the nooks up there. Just ride down the handi-ramp. Cheers.

Okay...wtf, I got a ticket for $100 for "blocking/obstructing sidewalk/walkway access"

I thought it would be like $30...but I guess I was wrong.

If it was a legit ticket, it'd be fair game...but the 2 other bikes around me didn't even get a ticket & mine wasn't blocking/obstructing anything more than theirs were.

Any tips to avoid getting dinged again? :S

Don't park on the sidewalk? You are playing the ticket lottery, today was your turn to lose. Just like with speeding tickets, the 'they were doing something just as wrong as I was' argument gets you nowhere.

You could try putting a cover on your bike so they can't see the plate (and don't have any convenient place to put the ticket), but riding with a cover is a pain in the ***.
