Yet another stolen-SS-from-condo-parking: 2013 Kawasaki ZX636

Don't steal my future business plan .
In another thread we're talking about shipping containers retrofitted with manual roll up doors.
I foresee a battle with condo boards.
shipping containers would be awesome too, but tough to get in there... i have trouble getting my fullsize truck in some parking garages.
condos should start having roll up doors on the parking spots. you dont need a crazy thick barrier between spots just the doors. even if they are semi private.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on....

Do you know we all pay for your bike right? Thanks to you our rate will go up again next yr.

Jeez, give the guy a break. Bad enough getting ripped off. Don't need to add insult to injury.

Moreover, that statement is incorrect. A claim from another unrelated party will not affect your insurance score. Actuaries that work for insurance companies are way ahead of the stats for injury, damage and theft in all scenarios. I know because my mom is one.

Lol do you even know how an insurance rate is calculated? Ofcourse incidents like this would add to the stat. This isnt rocket science. This is reason why many insurance companies dont touch Ducatis. Young SS riders are living in condos because.... Who the heck in their 20-30s can buy a house in the city ?

Actuaries are not wizard. They look at data in the past... I know because my degree is AS

Chain: grade 80 6800 pounds, I believe 8mm in diameter metal. Industrial stuff. With an ABUS chain sleeve around it (mostly to protect my wheels from damage). Since the column I attached it to is huge, I couldn't just buy the branded chains unless I managed to link 4-5 of them together (and spend $600 or something just on chains).

...

Damn that sucks hard. I have a chain, a column and padlock, I just hope they deter thieves as much as I hope.

Associate of Science?

Uh no.... Because the board already has you signed and acknowledge the risk for using underground parking.
Only case could be negligence on the part regarding security etc. But tough because of waivers already signed etc. The lawyers fee would be more than what your bike is worth for sure

sorry for your loss...the new zx6r is one off my fav bikes... I wouldda done anything to get my hands on one of those!!!

i live in an apartment and I store my ninja 300 at a storage mart...sooo not orth it getting kicked/scratched/stolen...

Lol isnt your mom an Actuary? I wonder what degree she got....

She's an MSc from the London School of Economics. And though she is 74 years old, she's still working as one of the top executives at her firm. So "lol", she knows something about insurance.

Honestly, if you're bike is enticing, I don't think a chain is stopping these guys. I hoped it would but now I believe flat-out, a theft-worthy bike in underground parking will be stolen eventually. Though I certainly hope you're more fortunate.
