Yes its work related.

Yes the Crysler tank is not the most highly designed tank in the contest.

But it is the ONLY Canadian tank in the contest.

Please vote for the Crysler tank to get it into the top 10.

It was 40th this morning and is up to 26th after a couple of Cornwall and Ottawa news agencies picked up the story.

The whole contest is to reflect community pride.

I have been doing this for some 30 years.

The contest I think is in its 16th year.

This will be the 1st year in the 16 years that my submission will not be in the top 10.

No real reaction or support by any of the local community around Crysler.

Too bad.

That’s too bad as you’d figure the community would be into it at the very least.

What’s the prize?

Is this your own business? Do you do the painting / design / planning?

Genuinely curious as it’s a very interesting niche market, and I’m sorry to say I’ve never even heard of Crysler until today.

The contest started as a method to celebrate and make note of communities that use these structures as a symbol of community pride.

Canadian tanks suffer in that regard due to our conservative nature. White shell with a blue cone. Wouldn't want any to offend anyone.

The prize is just recognition. Plaques. Placement in an industry calendar (yep....a water tank calendar). Promotion in the industry. Many municipal workers and engineers looking after these things complete their jobs in relative obscurity so to get hype in media etc proves to be rewarding to them.

I represent the coating company. We manufacture the paint used on the interior and exterior.

Water tanks is just 1 of our industries. But an important one. I was in 2 water tanks just today. Cannington and Bobcaygeon.

One of our community here on GTAM and a fellow motorcycle racer lives in Crysler.
