Took this pic last summer on the dvp and looking back at it now, its got me curious. I also play hockey during summer seasons and if/when I get a bike this year, I may be willing to try something like this out. So besides the OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS, I would like your opinions on the matter. Also, anyone have any experiences in carrying odd shaped luggage around on your bikes? Please discuss.

i wonce strapped a kawi 350 triple engine on my backrest-carrier of my cbx, it was really hard to keep the front wheel on the ground,i was on the tank most of the trip.

I used to strap my dragon boat paddle across the side of my bike against the fairings. lol

I carry my paddles down to the lake at least once a week, where I have a canoe waiting. I carry them the same way as the pic, but they're not nearly as long as a hockey stick. They're also wrapped up in my pfd.

On another note - is that plate legal, the way its situated?

I played soccer last year during the summer, that picture is pretty much exactly how I would have looked riding. Same goes for when I need to get too and from the gym quickly.

Didn't impair my riding at all, whether I went squid or with gear. All you really have to do is just fasten it up nice and tight and there you go.

Worst I have done is a set of golf clubs, But I had my driving range bag and just brought the essentials and it was a less than 5 minute drive on backroads.

Can't get past those chicken strips.

what the **** type of equipment could you possibly need to play soccer?????. a pair of shoes and some shin guards. ?????

this dude has a hockey stick strapped to his back, how would you riding to soccer look exacly like that ? what kind of soccer are you playing ? lol

What's the big deal? I've ridden with my hockey bag and stick.

i went fishing with a rods sticking out of the backpack with all the basics of camping and i had the tent (in its carrying bag) strapped to my chest like a reversed backpack. It wasnt an easy ride but i made it, camped, did my fishing and came back lol

I'm pretty sure the plate is illegal.

I have the exact same plate placement; it's visible from the back i.e. the tire doesn't hide it, 407 cameras can pick it up, I've beeen stopped by RIDE programs and no comments, etc.

I'm pretty sure you're making that statement up.

Because everyone races their bikes hard on street roads...you know, taking those corners aggressively...

Plate is illegal. He is making that statement up (no such thing as 90 degree angle), but the OHTA says:

"Obstruction prohibited

(3) The number plates shall not be obstructed by any device that prevents the entire number plates including the numbers from being accurately photographed using a photo-radar system. 1993, c. 31, s. 2 (5).

Same

(3.0.1) The number plates shall not be obstructed by any device that prevents the entire number plates including the numbers from being accurately photographed using a red light camera system. 1998, c. 38, s. 2 (1).

Same

(3.1) The number plates shall not be obstructed by any device or material that prevents the entire number plates including the numbers from being identified by an electronic toll system. 1996, c. 1, Sched. E, s. 2 (1)."

So the rear fendor is obstructing it. Therefore, illegal. It's so general and open to interpretation that it's illegal. Want to tell a Judge he's wrong? Good luck.

If any of the above photo/capture devices can't see 100% of the numbers on your plate, it's illegal.

BTW... this is an idiotic and childish mod.

By that definition every single aftermarket fender eliminator would be illegal because to some degree the tail overlaps the plate. You'd need to leave your plate setup stock like the pic below. Fortunately most cops let it slide, but that R6 would get the ticket in my opinion.
