Yamaha V Star owner thinking of upgrading to a Harley

What happened to the OP?

Anyway, disregard the comments from the usual assortment of jealous people about Harley reliability. Most of them are just eternally angry because they can't afford one.

LOL. I imagine this old wives tale helps all the owners of a Harley sleep better knowing they paid too much for a store bought image.

I'm allergic to agricultural machinery.

I paid more because I didn't want a throwaway offshore bike. Just look at Red's sig to see how many he threw away. By his own admission, it's a sickness. Get help Red, or get a Harley.

Harleys can get expensive all the brand name sparkplugs oil and so on plus all black and orange gear your going to have to buy.But then again your not just buying a bike you're buying a lifestyle.

Put "Harley" in any thread title and watch the festivities. Not for the squeamish. Why not just build proper motorbikes? The Motor Co. has a lot to answer for.

LOL. At least you know me well enough not to take me seriously.

Gotta love all the criticism from people that have probably never taken a Harley for a ride.. I have had a bunch of different sport bikes and standards and I can easily say my current 2007 FXD is my favourite bike I've ever ridden. No, they won't handle like a sport bike because they are not sport bikes (wow, go figure). The dyna's actually handle pretty well though, and the torque is a hell of a lot of fun on the street.

The low COG helps a lot too. Enjoyable rides as long as they are powerful enough, which the new Twin Cams are, barely. I would also take better brakes than the standard fare. I've ridden a lot of Harley's and they are no better or worse than any other model, with a ton of customization available. But I'll keep my VN2000 over any Harley made, except maybe a Screaming Eagle Roadglide.
