For female rider, first 600cc.

2004 zx6 636 blue mint 9000km, slip on.
- new tires
- brakes
- chain & sprocks

ORRRR

2007 cbr 600, bone stock, dropped on right side, only fairing has damage - 8000km.

the cbr is cheaper! lol (both under 5k$)

CBR needs a rear blinker and a painted or new fairing (if id even bother...integrated tail and faggetabout it)

I have experience with the 03/04 zx6 and Zero experience with CBR

she is petite and short. But rides like a demon.

Has not sat on a CBR, has sat on the zx6. can manage the zx6, new fz6 so far. (fz6 is an option but more expensive)

thank you for your input! No fan boys needed

Let her ride both bikes. They are VERY different in pretty much everything - power delivery, seating position / ergonomics, even sound lol.

CBR is a better value IMO... But that depends on how bad the damage is.
Personally, I would go with the 636 because I don't need the headache of a fixer upper!

I am assumoing you are talking about FZ6R and not FZ6. If so (and even if you are talking about FZ6) - both these bikes are completely different animals from Kawa and Honda. They are standard (FZ6)/street (FZ6R) bikes and Kawa and Honda are supersports.
FZ6R will have least power and probably most friendly ergonomics
FZ6 has plenty of power but still less then kawa or honda.
She can test ride FZ6R since it is new and is on every demo drive this year from Yamaha

FZ6R 2009, she has sat and i have ridden em. i know the difference between that and SS.

in terms of the cbr, its literally only a minor fairing rash and a broken tail blinker.

if the cbr doesnt have any mechanical issues, than i agree its probably the better value.

biggest things would be frame, forks to check. They are pretty bullet proof as 600s go. but ill still have a pro check er out.

I figured you do know the difference :) I just found it strange that FZ6R was included in the choice with two SS bikes. Btw, did she like it? How longs she's been riding and which bike she is coming from?

from two SS - ultimately it will come down to personal preference but I think CBR is a better buy (given damage is only cosmetic).

2008 ninja 250

so i think the FZ would be ideal...but its expensive!

10000 km under belt. 1 season.

im thinking the CBR or the FZ. I remember the 636 being very aggressive to deal with on a daily basis.

I would assume the CBR is much more refined, but also a whip.

I just bought a mint 2007 cbr 600 for $6200. So yours for under $5000 is a steal IMO.

Having previously owned a 2007 zx6r and gsxr600 the Honda has the best quality of the three. Even tho all 3 of the bikes I've owned were 2007's and 600's I still feel like I upgraded.

Like some one said the mid range on the cbr is great. I'm 5'6" and I am almost flat foot on the cbr same goes with the Gsxr.

I've never been on the older 636's but I didn't like my old zx6r.

Hm, another option would be to wait till fall and get FZ6R for far less (given she liked it). I don't know her and obviously cannot judge her riding skills but personally I would spend more time on 250 or move to friendlier 600+ like SV650, Gladius, FZ6R (still expensive because relatively new) and than in couple of seasons move on to SS (if that's what she wants)

In case you haven't checked yet, 636cc is more expensive than 599cc at State Farm
In my case, 2006 636 was $4000 a year, 2006 R6 $3100 a year.

if that CBR is an RR, then it would be lighter than the 636, which is better for female riders.

funny thing about the insurance with statefarm.

RR
636
fz6
cbr
all same prices!

****ing insanity, maybe they changed the 636 recently. I remember my 636 being more than the RR and the 07 600cc zx6.

Going to see a FZ tonight, id rather see her on a new fz than an 03 demon. That 250 was just not cutting it for trips and driving highway everyday.

she doesnt get to ride em unfortunately.

they are way too far lol.

I know they are both fantastic, but which do you think a small female would enjoy more?

I picked CBR over ZX6R, so in my biased opinion CBR :)

CBR for the win!!!...it deifntly suits a smaller rider very comfy, but im biased since i own one, although i did sit on a r6 and found the seating a lil less comfortable for me im 5'7 so not talll at all and found the cbr better ergonomically.
