Hey Mike, didnt i warn you about going back to Robbers just a few months ago?

Yeah, I know... on the other hand their reliability was much better than what I had prior to that (Acanac).

I'm just hoping start.ca is reliable and steady. I want an internet provider that I don't need to think about -- pay a reasonable rate and it works, no unreasonable price increases, no unreasonable loss of service, and no having to haggle for a better price every single year.

I told the chick in retention that Rogers is a flea market -- you never know if you have the best price you could have gotten because the price is not set, you have to bargain for it.

Disgusting….

Home, Rogers Lite, 2.97Mbps download with a 0.26Mbps upload…with a 25GB limit...

I gave up my Rogers Cable TV last week, I think internet is this week….

Any reason to go with start? Teksavvy is cheaper:

Only had 1 or 2 service interruptions and I have been with them over a year. Speed is always at the max listed:

Had over 40 torrents running when I did that btw.

I'm giving Start a chance because it doesn't cost me anything to try.

They waive the installation fee if one already has cable internet, so it is just $39.99 for 25 down, 2 up, 150gb.
Tech Savvy, when I put my postal code in, has $41.95 for 25 down, 2 up, 300gb... the 2 dollars means nothing, so it is cheaper for what you get, but they want $65 installation, and besides that lately I have been reading bad reviews for tech savvy customer service. I don't really need the extra data as I can't remember the last time I broke 100gb. Everything I have read about Start has been almost nothing but praise.

Anyway, since it costs nothing to try start... I will start there and see how it goes. If I am not happy with it I will not be out any installation fees.

By the way, I did a full virus cleanup and a lot of the stuff that showed up on the log had to do with using speedtest.net

20mbit on Bell LTE... Modern tech really is ridiculous.

Now to be clear, Speedtest.net did not put this exploit up. Rather, speedtest.net is a victim of being exploited; but in turn their website was used to exploit countless others. As of this writing, Speedtest.net has rectified the issue, so they are safe to visit.

Possible your infection is from this time (early 2013)
