smith came into that corner way off the racing line and then parked it on the racing line.. imo the ride through penalty was deserved? he should have done the ride through and avoided the black flag.

wss may have been a ***** show, but it sure was fun to watch.

Initially all he had to do was give up 3 places iirc, when he ignored that then they said he had to ride through, when he ignored that then black flag.

i missed that. whoops. thx for the heads up correct info.
must of been paying too much attention to my coffee. how is the rider informed to give up the 3 places? is this done by pit board?

A yellow board displayed at start/finish. They showed it on the broadcast. Also, if his team was paying attention they would have put it on his actual pit board but I don't know if they did or not.

Smith was also the one who ran Polamai out into the grass right at the beginning causing him to crash as well.

[h=1]To clear things up: Firstly, as reported on social media, I didn't jump the start. My penalty was for not competing the warm up lap in front of the safety car, which was due to my bike cutting out during the start of the warm up lap.
After it cut out, I got it restarted and I joined the grid at the same time as most of the other riders, although I must have still been slightly behind the safety car as it entered the pitlane. I was NOT instructed by anyone to start at the back of the grid or in pitlane.
When I saw the Penalty Board (which @kylesmithracing will confirm was very difficult to see) I entered the pits on the next lap but was already black flagged. Even my team were not given clear instructions on the timing screens regarding the decision that was made.
It's a shame as we needed points on the board and we would have been top 8 even with the bike difficulties we faced. It's been a tough weekend but we'll keep working hard and will start our season in Aragon.

yea, I must of been asleep at the coffee maker lol. I thought the penalty was for causing a crash... I didn't realize it was for any other reason. dang

I believe the initial 3 spot penalty was for his final corner outbraking maneuver which caused (direct or indirectly, you can be the judge) Gamarino to crash. He passed 3 riders and never made the corner, so I believe that's where the 3 spots came from. The ride through was because he did not drop the 3 positions, and the black flag was for not doing the ride through.

He was also investigated for the lap 1 runoff which took Polamai out.

The Gamarino crash was the one that I thought smith got the penalty for. In smiths FB (or instagram, post #109) blurp he states the penalty was for riding behind the safety car on the warm up lap. hmmm ..
