Would you recommend this tire configuration???

No one says you can't mix and match, but there are a few things to be aware of. Personally I really dislike the BT016's, had BT015's on another machine and both had front wear issues. I have heard good things about the S20's though. Regardless, it really depends what your riding pace and skill level is. That said, I run Pirelli DRC's on the front and Rosso 2's on the rear. I like more "stick" in the front, incase I really need to get on the binders, and something that will get a bit more mileage on the street for the rear. But this is coming from an avid track rider. Manufacturer's typically use similar profiles across their offering range (if you go up or down a step). In my experience, I haven't had an issue with profile mismatch between dunlop and pirelli, but can't say the same for the other manufacturers. I've had no issue rocking a Q2 or GPA with a DRC or Rosso 2. This is not to say all tires will behave the same together, I usually try to stick with a single manufacturer where possible. If your a very aggressive rider, I would not have a less sticky tire on the front and more sticky tire on the rear personally, but to each their own. If your not super agrgessive, you'll likely be just fine, but then I'd also argue, why put on an S20? Its more track oriented tire, for the money you would get better milesage out of a SportMax/Rosso2/other sport touring tire.

A common misconception is individuals wanting track/race oriented items for their street bikes, when in reality most street tires have more grip than the rider has skill. Using correct tire pressures, correctly setting up suspension and being smooth will solve most problems.

I agree, and I have been debating putting on some sport-touring tires instead. I know Im not outriding my hyper-sport tires, but I like the idea that I have the grippiest tires possible, just in case.

Get some bt003 for even gripper tires.

The R10's and S20's replace the prior BT... series. I have a S20 front on my bike because I could no longer get a BT003 in the size needed.

In the new designation "R" = race, "S" = street ... which makes a whole lot more sense than cryptic names and numbers.

I just bought my bike and it has good tread left but the rear is an Avon storm 2 and the front is a metzeler z6... think there would be any issues there?
