owning my own snowmobiles, and with insurance, and trail passes, and the ****** amount of snow we've been getting lately, i would definitely rent them for $200 a day to go riding, the convenience of having the machines maintained, ready to go, and already at the location i wanted to ride, it would be great.

that being said, i dont know that barrie would be where i'd want to ride, i would definitely like trail riding multi-day trips around hte algonquin area. huntsville-ish are.

I would be worried if you used the mostly positive responses fom this thread as justification for starting the business. It's like asking the choir if they like singing.

There are a heartbreaking number of restaurant failures because a person was told they were a good cook and should open a restaurant. When the person making the compliments has to pay for the meal he suddenly becomes a critic.

It would be interesting to see the results of the same survey given to the public at large.

I think it's a good idea to start up a M/C, sled, ATV rental business. Would I loan you any start up money or invest? Not a penny.

thread title.... its a "question for school" probably a business class of somekind...

Oddly enough< i would invest in this idea. Under some really careful parameters.
My VP's son works for a rental and guiding company out of Whistler area, snow machines in winter and ATV's summer, short hops and multiday stuff. They do well enough, the equipment is current and you can't go there and not have fun. Its a beautiful place to be.

But they built it as an adventure tour company, a way to make a living in a great spot, in a sport they enjoy. They didn't put it up as a way to own new sleds and expense them, running it as a hobby. Its a business. So many ok ideas end up in the can as two buddies get an idea that would be fun, but maybe not a business.

How ****** is your business school that your business startup project doesn't take into account real-world costs?!?!?! Are you sure you read the assignment right? Lol

Are you talking about highschool or postsecondary? If where I went to uni for business assigned me this project I would find another uni to transfer to ASAP.

Unfortunately, this is not a project I would invest in.
It might be viable in very selective areas as a small business, but the growth prospects are non-existant.

Sorry.
