Worth to fight this ticket?

You are right. She deserves the ticket. Also, if it makes you feel better, fighting it will not help - because she already gave practically a confession to the cop.

But it is still her right to go to court and try to fight it, reduce the fine, or whatever else that could be negotiated. Also, there was no accident here, so no one is hurt. I don't see a conflict here.

Out riding a year back I had to slam on the brakes to keep from being T-boned by a texter running a red light so I am pretty much not sorry for your wife. Throw her in jail.

If it wasn't for M/C safety courses I would be dead or crippled. The guy on the phone would have gotten less than a thousand dollars in fines, maybe a few points.

According to OPP stats distracted driving causes more deaths than DUI or speeding. Where is our ever protecting government? The penalties should be high enough to cause diarrhea.

If I were God the penalties would be:

Talking on the phone: Strap them to the back of a SUV in traffic for a day and let them experience vulnerability.

Texting: Break their thumbs.

Save YOUR money for a divorce lawyer.

PS Re weddings and funerals, Check the social pages. These are not rare events allowing open season on innocent victims. Fact: When you are under stress you have more accidents because you are distracted even when not driving. Don't make a funeral a two for one special or miss your own wedding.

Divorce seems a bit extreme in this circumstance...but I'm sure people divorce for less.

Thanks all for the input appreciate it.

BTW I'm sure everyone on this forum has at one point or another glanced at their phone while driving. Most just don't get caught.

Look at it this way bro, you have an official STFU given by the police to your wife. Some of us can only dream...I say open a beer, stretch out and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Oh man, yes... this is an unforgettable one that you can just keep hot pokering her with for years to come. Just wait until you accidentally screw up and catch a ticket, this is your only back door out of that fight.

as for nobbie48 and "save your money for a divorce lawyer" that is hilarious... and true.... or is it? dun dun duhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!

LOL that is true....unfortunately I got busted a few weeks ago in Barrie for 26kph over a few months after her ticket :(

Did I miss something?
Pics of the wife?

How else can we offer proper, legal advice and strategies?

:D

It's always in my pocket, so no I haven't.

Calls come up on the centre console with a large, four inch button to receive them. :p

That doesn't make it right.

Get this app.....never have to touch the phone while driving.

What good is it to have emails/texts read out to me if I can't respond until I get where I'm going anyway?

Better to just stick the phone in the glove box out of sight and deal with responding to stuff later.

I come on pretty strong on the subject but the OPP says distracted kills more than DUI's. Why are we taking this a joke. A few decades ago we would chuckle about someone making it home half tanked. Now it isn't a joke. Neither should be distracted.

The divorce part was a bit tongue in cheek........just a bit.

OPP Stats for 2013

Distracted Deaths 78
DUI Deaths 57
Speed related 44

Didn't the fines go up to $1000 and 3 demerit points? or has that bill not passed?
