+2 to Brampton. But I'd still rather live here than Hamilton. At least here I could buy a decent home and not smell the after effects of Stelco... or enjoy the industrial 'scenery'.
Anywhere where you can effectively commute to the GTA
This is a tricky question and you'll find good/bad anywhere you go.
You can be in a "rough" area one minute, cross the street and be into 700-800k homes and never know the ghetto was behind you unless you had a reason to venture in.
Roncesvalles village to be exact.
Roncy is where I am and has become extremely popular since you left. It's rated as one of the best neighbourhoods in downtown Toronto. Only drawback is it sits on top of Parkdale so some of that riffraff does venture north. Conversely, I would never live in Woodbridge. A bit Jersey Shore and too many Escalades and Hummers driven by egomaniacs.
There are some neighbourhoods that are pretty solidly decent but this is very true for a lot of GTA and I think that is how city planners like it. They don't want to have ghettos pinch off from affluent areas. They try to keep it mixed so that everybody intermingles in the hope its for the greater good of the city. Like on one side of the street you'll have ontario housing and across the street you;ll have nice bungalows.

Whole f--king city of Toronto. I live in the burbs.
We all know of the good places to live in the GTA.
Namely: Markham, Richmond Hill, Downtown (mostly), beaches, and Rosedale.
So any opinions on the worst areas in the GTA?
Let me just state the obvious.
Jane/Finch, Cabbagetown, and Cresent Town.
Please add inputs, thanks!!
