I know its still a week or so out but I just want to wish Canada the best. I watch it every year but since the NHL is out it will be nice to get my Hockey fix.

Dougie Hamilton played with my son and its nice to see him make the team. He is just a great kid.

Now, go kick some *** Canada ;-)
 
Can't wait to see him in black and gold.

It's gonna be interesting to see how we do with Subban in net as well, other than that I think we have a powerhouse of a team

No excuses but that's 2 years in a row it looks like getting the bye to the semifinal has hurt our team. They might be the underdogs against the Swedes but Team USA is hot right now with the best goaltender. We'll get junior gold again someday but I'll be surprised if we ever reach the same level of dominance like we did when we won 5 in a row. The USA Hockey program is pumping in tons of money and more and more kids south of the border are lacing up the skates.

Best of luck to our boys in the bronze medal game.
 
We had the talent to do it, they had the desire and the Goalie. Team USA really moves the puck well great cycling and movement between the players, they do not rely on the big shooters like we do. Will be interesting to see how the play the Swedes and if we can bring home the Bronze again. Who starts for Canada in net?

How is it embarrassing? International tournaments have always been a dumb format. We go undefeated, 4-0, Russia, 3-1, USA 2-2, we lose 1 game and were out, I have always said it should be 3 game series in medal rounds, guarantee we would win the it all. All great teams lose eventually, its the law of averages. Canada has lost 2 group play games in 10 yrs if I recall correctly, so that would be 38-2, if that's not dominant I don't know what is. These kids go there and play their hearts out to make us proud, and we should be. I will never be embarrassed by or jr team. Every yr they make Canada proud,I guess except for the few that can't stand behind them no matter what. The only weak part to or jr program right now and had been for a few yrs now is in goal. There's no Carey Price, Marc Andre Fleury, Manny Legacy ect. Subban will probably be an AHL player at best.

No need for a 2nd or 3rd game. Its a no brainer that the team wasnt competitive to begin with

Unfortunatley Subban, as Binnington remains the unknown commodity. Subban dumped one game (the wrong one), though he is only one on a team, this is the life of a goalie, Hero or Heal.

Coach was foolish to put everything in one goalie to ride out the series. they should have split time 3-1 or 2-2 in the round robin, to get a better feel for who your go to clutch guy is. Billington having only seen got ice time at the end of a game the team was no longer playing in doesn't show if he is nowe "the guy"

Subban is so overhyped...... they're getting so much exposure because PK is actually awesome but his brothers are sub-par at best. Sad thing is they'll all get picked up regardless. Subbans are the next groupie of Suter brothers.
 
TSN is reporting that Binnington is starting.

Canada will always have the talent to ice competitive teams. We won't be as dominant as we once were though. What I think has hurt us the past few years is the mental side of the game, however, remember that these are just kids still learning the game. Like I said, the automatic bye to the semis doesn't look like it turned out to be an advantage for our teams as in the past 2 semifinal games, our boys were asleep.

There's merit to the argument of making the medal round best out of 3 but I say keep it a one game elimination medal round. When Canada won gold 5 years in a row, no one complained about it. The better team won on the day it mattered.

5-1 so what, like I said all great teams have bad games, that's sports, but to say they weren't competitive from the start isn't so bright, going 4-0 in group play seems pretty competitive to me. You may want to watch more sports, its the only way you will learn anything. You're the bandwagon type.

There's a big difference from basketball, hockey (NHL)(AHL),(MLB) and or jr team. Only one team can win each championship, so that means all the other teams are losing as well. The Jays are trying to win, they have made huge advances in their quest to win. They may not will it all, but should be contending, and be exciting this yr. If the Leafs and Raptors tried as hard, sports would be more exciting in Toronto. The jrs are nothing to be ashamed of, they really played well, just had a bad game. If there is anything to be ashamed of it's people saying we were embarrassed.

Congrats to team USA, what a good game. They are proof a bad showing can be easily turned around. Last yr they finished 7th, this yr, Gold.
