There are an awful lot of dead people, the remains of whom I have not personally confirmed. Perhaps we should leave the years of their death blank as well?

I did swim out, and yep it was him. Why would his own terrorist organisation admit he was dead if it wasn't true. There's a lot less fear in the world with him dead.
