Words you hate

"Prolly" in lieu of the word probably.

Worse yet, when people don't realize that "Prolly" isn't even a word. Makes my head explode.

For those words it really depends on the context.
But one this I do dislike is they tend to be way to early or at the first sign of difficulty.

I'll second "woke", in the sense of being spoken about someone's (apparent) political or socioeconomic matters, as opposed to the past tense of waking up in the morning.

I still have no idea what is meant by saying that someone is "woke".

According to the Oxford English Dictionary "woke" is defined as: "Originally: well-informed, up-to-date. Now chiefly: alert to racial or social discrimination and injustice."

The OED states: "By the mid-20th century, woke had been extended figuratively to refer to being 'aware' or 'well informed' in a political or cultural sense."

The Urban Dictionary adds: "Being woke means being aware… knowing what’s going on in the community (related to racism and social injustice)."

To summarise: woke means a person is consciously awake.
