Word of warning for adding Fuel Stabilizer.

I add half a can of SEAFOAM, ride it home, park in the corner and plug in CTEK, that is all of my winterizing. Come spring time, couple of seconds of cranking and it starts right up, short revs for 30 sec. and "Dewinterizing" is done.

Did the oil change yesterday. Today or tomorrow gonna put fuel stabilizer and put the batter on tender.
 
I put Petro can 94 in and Stabilizer.



Sounds like I should put Shell 91 or Ultramar 91 (neither have ethanol), and fuel stabilizer

Question. Has anybody mixed their stabilizer with water and see if it mixed into one? For instance about 5 ounces of water and one ounce of stabilizer.

Ethanol is bad bad stuff. You should never run it in your bike, both in the summer when you ride it, and winter for storage!

I didn't believe it either, because their gas is SO much cheaper than Shell! I e-mailed to confirm!

Ultramar has limited this percentage (approximately 10%) to regular gasoline only. The mid-grade (Plus) gasoline is a mix of the Regular and Supreme so it can contain Ethanol, rather than having a seperate tank for the mid-grade. As for the Supreme gasoline, it contains no Ethanol.

And don't forget that Ultramar (at least the one close to me) has Super Thursdays where Premium 91 is only 9c more than regular! INSANE!!

Just out of curiosity, since some of you say that it's bad to turn on and let the bike idle in winter because it doesn't regulate the oil and temp.

but can't you put it on a rear bike stand and put it in 1st (or cycle through the gears) and let the bike "roll" for a few minutes

Please don't do this. Not without at least putting the front tire against the wall and strapping the bike down. I still don't see the point in doing this since there won't be any load on the tire. It won't ever reach the same temps as actually riding the bike. If you want to start it and let it idle over the winter, just do it on it's stand.
