WOOHOO! Honda brings in a Euro-style tourer

That was a good time to come of age on a motorcycle for sure.
After a childhood on motocross bikes first street bike a 81 RD LC then a slight step up the aforementioned GS1100SZ Katana.
It was a fun ride and i didn't have too much difficulty paying cash for the latest and greatest big bore sport bikes all through the 80's.
At the time i had no idea how blessed i was to be able to do this. A golden time to be where i was doing what i was, I'm very thankful to have lived it.
The Katana 1100 was in limited supply and commanded a premium price, the styling was beyond cutting edge. There was only one guy in my part of town (Scarborough bluffs area) that was able to get one. Do you remember how much you paid for those bikes and where you got them? I had a 1980 and a 1981 GS1100 they were almost identical other than colour and both awesome bikes. They had the same bulletproof engine as the Katana except the Katana had noticeably hotter cams.

First time I saw a Katana on the street with the hide away light I followed it all the way into the guys driveway.

I don’t know why I have a hang up against parallel twin engines.

With you on that.

Dislike not having low-end torque relative to thumpers, boxers or V-twins.

Dislike the sewing machine sound.

But more than anything, dislike that the renaissance of P2 engines is because it's the cheapest and easiest way for a manufacturer to comply with ever-increasing emissions regulations.

Just my personal preference. Wife's bike is a P2, she doesn't care about any of the stuff above.
