Winterizing track bike

Don't know for sure, but even unheated garages never get so terribly cold to make water freeze. For example, I buy bulk 500ml water bottles, and keep them in the garage, I'm yet to get a water from the garage (unheated) and find it frozen..

do you think theres 500ml of water in a big jug in your engine or is it in much thinner.smaller quantities? and surrounded by cold metal?

Sure, I can agree to that, although I don't know what you meant by 500ml in a "big jug", my bike takes more than 2000ml in the rad and pump, and probably anoterh 200 in the reserve reservoir. Maybe you got the units of volume mixed up? Anyway, I agree with you.

Water wetter mix freezes in an unheated garage. It's a fact. Takes a few nights of minus zero temps, but it will eventually freeze.

Drain your bike while you're swaping your oil. It aint rocket science.

Personally I drain mine and leave it empty. Just blow the system out with compressed air (thanks Brian P) just to be sure.

...and it's exactly what i did, but didn't blow the system with air, good idea, a bit too late now..
