If your looking at Apache Junction the real estate deals should still be pretty sweet, AZ was very hard hit in the real estate correction crash. East from Apache highway 88 out to Roosevelt lake is dynamite ride, hope you have no fear of hieghts, you can be gone for hours on great pavement, or gravel if you wish and ride off road for days being pretty alone.
I've followed your posts about your background so your probably pretty equipped to deal with the outback down there, its a bit harsh.

I bought in Presscott (1.5hrs north west of pheonix) a few while back and just never get tired of the constantly changing scenery. Some of the roads available make "tail of the dragon" look short and uninteresting.

i find it more difficult year after year to get excited about riding on the east coast.

Then you need to visit Vermont and some parts of Quebec more

We just moved into a new house, so I will be significantly broke this year... will only go to Blue or Holiday Valley if I can bum a ride with someone, LOL. Buy me a lift ticket and I'll give you 1/2 a day of snowboarding lessons! Anyone?

I put together a two week vacation in revelstoke less than 1500(flight, accomodations, lift tickets and airport transfer). 6 days lift ticket. I will probably AT for a few and two days I have my avalanche course.

Gore is an ecellent mountain in NY. Great lift lines.

Great deal for Rossignol Angus at Sportchek btw. Down to 194.99 from 390.99. That's in the same price range as beginner boards with extruded bases. 153, 155, 157, 158w and 161w. Very limited quantities. 2013/14 model.

I joined an indoor pit bike racing series for the winter in tillsonburg. It's pretty fun, although it's quite humbling to get lapped repeatedly by little kids.
