Windscreen replacement and Gear shift adjustment. DIY or Mechanic?

I find when i'm riding on my cbr250, i get beaten by the wind quite hard. Especially in my neck area.
I saw that replacing my windscreen will help. I do sit more of an upright position.

Do you suggest this as a good idea to do?

Also i'm going to adjust my shift lever, has anyone had issues with this before?

Should i take my bike to the dealer or a mechanic to have this done or attempt it myself?

I am mechanically inclined, i love building things.

The gear shift I'd do myself, as well as the windscreen. They're both pretty straightforward. See if zero gravity makes a double bubble windscreen for your bike. It made a big difference on my Bandit.

I agree.

I "accidentally" adjusted my rear brake pedal while I was screwing around with the bike. This is before I even knew it was possible.

Worked out perfectly and I then adjusted my shifter.

On the other hand. I hate making toast. (white....white....white..............browBLACK!!! Yes I need a new toaster)

You'll be fine dude. Look for how the shifter disconnects from the shift spline (the foot lever, pushes a rod that's connected to a spindle.) remove and refit.
 
I'm mechanically adept. I have taken an item my engineering partner had made and just by looking at it replicated the build from parts. Not to mention I have an aptitude for mechanical things.

Use blue loctite on any fasteners. Ask me why. :)
 
Windscreen is super easy DIY. And so is gear shifter (at least on my bike); entails 1 minute of time and 2 10mm wrenches.
 
Did the shift lever. Figured it out pretty easy. Adjusted nicely now. Wait for windscreen to come in and then work on it.
