Why you should never ride slow on the highway.

Doesn't matter who's right or wrong, if you ride your motorcycle thinking to yourself "i'm allowed to go 80 on the highway, i obey the law and i'm in the right" you'll also be roadmeat before too long.

I don't see how any of you guys are concluding that anyone but the car driver is at fault? The truck and motorcycle seemed to be travelling at roughly the same speed, the car was travelling at almost double the speed... the driver of the car could have SLOWED DOWN to anticipate the situation more clearly but instead he raced forward blindly like an idiot and almost made roadmeat of two riders. The driver of the car is 100% at fault.

Who's doing 80? That would be unsafe because it's unexpected. Doing 100 in the right hand lane is expected. I hope for my families sake I won't be road meat for riding safely.

holy fack, yes the guy was going fast(er) but the semi truck could clearrrrly see him in his mirrors...

Good on him for avoiding the motorcyclist, they wouldve been roadkill under the semi's wheels otherwise!

you'd think so but you are wrong. watch the video again and notice that the car is coming up in the right lane until the tuck starts to change lanes. no way in hell he'd see him.

It took the car driver 3 seconds to recognize that the semi was changing lanes and then have to take evasive action. Thankfully he saw and reacted to the bike MUCH faster.

Guy was sleeping
People need to use common sense. He's changing lanes for a reason.

Common sense is dead. Would have loved to see what he would have done if instead of a motorcycle there was a couple broken down trucks.

amen

It's sad to think that they license clueless people.

Sadder that said people then record themselves and publish it.

Saddest that others here believe that the video maker is driving in an appropriate manner, blaming either the motorcyclist or the trucker for the issue.

Please slip your license into the nearest shredder for appropriate processing.

I find that trucks rarely move around for no good reason. Their actions can tell you a lot. But then again the driver of the car got himself into a situation where they had no hope of responding correctly.

yah... the cager had a good luck that there was just a bike, but not a slow tractor or a standing emergency vehicle... he/she was lucky to damage the car only...
the cager driver's just stupid. :confused5:

I don't think anyone believes the video maker is driving in an appropriate manner, there's no doubt he drives like an idiot, there are hundreds like him out there everyday.
Which is why i brought up my point, don't be lollygagging around on a motorcycle!
If a truck is passing you, guess what?, you're going to friggin slow.
It's common practice for people to make stupid passes on the right, thanks to those other idiots, that stay locked in the left lane at 95km/hr and helped them develop the bad habit.

So the idiots in order of importance are>
The impatient video guy #1
The truck driver that can't use his mirrors or simply stay in the right lane with his big rig. #2
The motorcycle for not watching his mirrors or at least keeping up / staying ahead of regular traffic. #3

Nah man, your post takes number 2. The truck and motorcyclist don't even scale.

Holy F*** they got lucky!

I would disagree with you.

The only thing I can conclude from that video is (again and again) do not ride on Russian roads unless you sick for suicide! but that's about 10000km from here + it's oversea :la:

Sorry, you're wrong. I think you haven't lived around here for a while and have become acclimatized to your new location. i.e. you have become one of "them"!

Any Imbecile and most upper grade idiots can floor the accelerator of a vehicle.

However, if you want to drive like a moron, you must be able to read the road ahead and have patience enough to wait for the least risky opportunity to pass.

Basically, the video guy's vehicle was too powerful for his ability.
