I used the online quote system for john duffy and td, both were absurd!

For a 2001 f4i
TD = $7600
John Duffy = $5600

for a 2010 ninja 250r
TD = 5700
John Duffy = 3800

what the ****? Seems like these rates are similar to if I mowed down an entire orphanage while drunk.

Are these normal rates or is it absurdly high?

If you would have gottten your G instead of sitting on your G2 you could have been around $1,400 with full coverage on the F4i from State Farm....

How have you had a G2 for 8 years?

Got my G2 when i was 17 or 18? dont recall. Went to my G test, was incredibly hungover and failed due to stupidity. Then when G2 was about to expire, i just redid the G2 test. It is expiring at the end of this month again, so ill do G2 test again to fall back on to give me another 5 years and ill do my G test as soon as possible after i have my redone G2.

Do your G test... you only need to be licensed for 5 years and have your G.. So if you get your G you`ll get the quotes jeffjones said earlier

Quotes seen normal. You are 26 without your G. And you tried to quote a SS bike (f4i). Welcome to the wonderful world of insurance.

There is also no way a brand new rider can issue a 600 for 1400. The 250 I can believe. But not a 600.

I guess you never got quoted from SF....

I was 28, had G for for 11 years and got my M1 that day and got insurance for $840/year for full coverage on my F4i (I brought my truck to them or else it would have been $1400.

I think you should pay more.

Why?

Bc stupidity should cost you something for doing your G2 test three times and not just doing it the first time.

Then to post online how mad you're about the price you got quoted.

Stop being so irresponsible and lazy and get your full license etc. Get your act together lol

Tell your patents they can send me a Christmas card this year for doing their job for them.

why so mad? there's nothing wrong with staying on a G2. Not everyone goes for their G as fast as possible. Sometimes circumstances are a factor for some people. The only reason im quoted nearly 3x-4x what others are getting is because of not having G license? i know a G brings insurance down, but not by a factor of 4.

Use your brain a little.

I'm not mad. Just hate reading someone's complaining post when it's only you to blame!

Circumstances are a funeral, missed flight home, etc.... Showing up hung over and failing is stupidity, irresponsible, etc......

Again not mad. But I call a spade a spade.

If your act was together and you had your full G. You'd notice quite the drop.

You only have yourself to blame. Sorry you don't like what I'm saying. But it's the truth.

So having a G will take me from $7600 to $1400? right away buddy.

Also, it wasn't complaining, i was asking a question. If you read my entire post, you would have clearly been able to deduce such a simple fact.

I don t know the exact dollar amount of discount. But it's probably worth getting it for.

Oh and I did read your posts. And lost all respect for you when you said yourself you were stupid for showing up to your G test hung over and failed.

You're surprised someone called you out on it?

Really?

How about you pick up the phone and ask them why it's so much higher if you don't believe it's bc of the G2 etc?

Anyway. It's late.

Can't fix stupid as they say.

Sounds about right. When i got my ninjette 250 i was 21,had a brand new m2 with g2 for a year and i payed 3000(~720/month for 4 months) with TD to ride from june to oct which burned a big hole in my wallet, and if i had insured for the entire season which is april to september i would have payed ~3800. Next season(this season) i went with jevco who gave me 1800(~316/month for 6).

I think you are my hero... I have recently adopted this mentality and it seems to have upset many people.

lmao looks pretty normalish
just sit on your m2 for a year and prices will decrease significantly

As others have mentioned earlier,

get your G license, and then call SF, Im not sure if the discount will be very large, but it will be much less than what you have currently have got quotes for. You have to have had your full driving license G for 5 years to receive significant discounts from SF.

Cheers

+1 to this and what others have said, this is what you get for sitting on your G2 for so long, I'm the same age as you but my insurance is dirt cheap through state farm for my zx6 because I got my full G at like 19.
