Do people use his property as a motorcycle used dealership or what? There's no way all those bikes are there for mechanical work, I also see like 30 discarded old bikes parked in the alley, are they used as a spare-parts junkyard?

Some of his bikes are on long term consignment, i.e. if Ted can get a buyer at the right price he will call up the owner for you. Other bikes outside are junkers for parts. Ted does sell used bikes, but prefers not to, due to regulations.

And you need a dealers license to sell vehicles. Years ago, selling used vehicles as a licensed used vehicle salesman meant you were not allowed to moonlight in another occupation.

When I was there a while ago getting tires mounted they were talking about all the bikes.
Lots of them were parked there for storage and consignment and the owners never came back. Ted doesn't want to go through the paperwork of getting them transferred to him and selling them.
