Why oh why do I want more...... What's wrong with me (Group Therapy required)

The F800R is a great bike, stupid good on gas (Averaged 3.6l/100 on the US trip doing 120-130 all the way) awesome brakes and suspension and the ABS is really sweet, which I didn't think I'd like so much but I don't think I want to have anything without ABS ever again cause it saved me on the blue ridge a few times in the heavy rain on loose gravel. Obviously if I didn't like it I wouldn't have put this many km's on it in 2 months.... The problem however is me wanting more, much much more punch.
Ok I'm done now, gotta work so I can finance my addiction to acceleration.

Have you considered the BMW owned and engineered Husky Nuda 900R?

Its essentially the same F800engine, which sounds you like you enjoy real much, bored to 900cc and pushing 100+ hp. Also the bike is lighter than the F800

Also comes with the Brembos, ABS, same BMW bags, and all the other niceties you are used to on the F800.

Its a refreshing unique looking bike that doesnt say "me too" like the Jap bikes.

Don't get me wrong, the K1300 is a very very fast bike but the difference between that and the f800r was nowhere near as drastic as I had hoped. I had it pegged open i first and second and off the redline..... In a controlled environment of course :)

were all the electronics on?

Now that's a nice looking machine ;).
OP buy my Bandit 1250abs :)

OP,

Do this test and let us know the results:

  • Take the F800R and warm the engine up to operating temperature
  • Make sure you have enough room in front of you
  • Put the bike into first gear and, with the clutch all the way in, accelerate smoothly
  • When the RPM hits 8,000 or a bit more, release the clutch
  • What kind of acceleration did you experience?

:D

Just joking. The F800R has brutal acceleration... once moving, just gear down twice and bring the RPM all the way to the red line. I'm pretty sure you 'll be able to feel it

Neither the K1300 or anything else is going to feel a lot faster...

Just my 2 cents
I read a review that said differently. They said all the low down grunt means you have a more enjoyable ride if you shift well before redline instead of near it.

How much does this thing cost and can I afford to fix it when I crash it a couple times?T

he Husquvarna Motorcycles Canada page doesn't even list any of these supermoto style bikes.

Yeah I don't get it... we're talking about twice the power. If you didn't feel a drastic change on the K1300, then you won't feel it on any bike.

Yeah, basically this. I own both a K1200R and an F800ST and the difference is like night and day. If you didn't feel a drastic change on the K1300 then either there was something wrong with that K1300, or something wrong with you

Edit: now that I think about it, could it have been that the K1300R you rode had the stability control option and that it was turned on? I've ridden a friend's K1300S, and full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear would trigger the system even on dry pavement. My K1200 does not have this system, and I do have to be careful with the throttle - maybe that's the cause of the lack of 'raging lunatic' you were expecting?

There is nothing wrong with you, the F800 engine is absolutely GUTLESS! :p

And don't write off a 600 SS just based on your size. I'm 6'1 ~210 lbs and I'm fine on a 600 (except the CBR....I'm convinced that thing is built for midgets).
It has almost the same HP and more torque, does it not?
