Why is all of ROGERS DOWN- no cell-no web-no landline for cust service

Switch to Wind for a total cell phone bill of $6/mo!!! On good days it works slightly better than how Rogers is working tonight ;)
Obvious question: How do you figure $6?
I do note that they can now support iPhones, though only unlocked 5 / 5C / 5S with AWS bands. Interesting.

Left column, $0/mo: http://www2.windmobile.ca/en/Pages/voice-plans.aspx

Pay $40 and you get 6 months of service: http://faqs.windmobile.ca/customer/portal/articles/1292190-pay-your-way-prepaid-service

Add to the $0/mo plan $5/mo unlimited text (includes unlimited text/pic/vid).

$40 divided by 6 mo = $6.67/mo. You'll have a bit of money left over for data usage or outgoing calls.

Rogers has the same thing for $85/yr: http://www.rogers.com/web/content/wireless-products/paygo_promotions_monthlydiscount

They need to reimburse me for my inconvenience

Rogers stated they will reimburse users for 1 day of lost service.

That's if you're in Toronto. Get out of GTA, and you will have a brick in your pocket. The only service that we have from Robbers is our 2 cell phones. Still wishing someone like Verizon came to this country. Oh, and both our Robbers phones worked throughout the day (Etobicoke). Weird, eh?

Their coverage has gotten pretty vast even though they initially targeted heavy urban areas.
If you do go out of the 'zone' then you're using Rogers network to connect/roam. Don't see how that makes it a brick. For the money (and if you have service where you most frequent) it's very hard to beat.

Nice, I was joking. Never expected that level of service from Rogers

Are you with Wind?

I have a booster in my attic that re-broadcasts Wind for my entire street. Went from 0 bars to 5 bars in my basement :)

Don't want to start a discussion on this topic really, but having a booster in your attic is like having a running microwave with an open door.

What no love for the prepaid cheepo's! I am going to call and complain. I paid my $100 for the year so I figure I am owed 27 cents!

My 3 watt router I sit beside probably isn't much better for me ;)

They'll probably ding you with a $7.95 deposit fee for your 27 cents of missed service.

Where did you get the booster from?

I was having an issue with "echo" (at least that's what I call it), because my outdoor and indoor antennas were too close together. I used a Channel Master Eaves Mount #CM9030 with a 20ft pipe and put the outdoor antenna on top of that. I used this site to calculate the best direction to aim the outdoor antenna: http://www.loxcel.com/celltower

If you're in a valley like me, the best tower to point it at might not be the closest ;)

Lol, what good community service

Some kind of 'network software glitch'.

that caused a signalling switch to cause a series of restarts. The reason Data service continued to work was because the switches that auto-rebooted were responsible for call hand-off and locating handsets (hence why SMS was down as well) They claim to have found the root cause, but I doubt it's as simple as 'one switch was overloaded with signalling traffic and caused a series of reboots'.

ORRRR.... Cleaning lady was vacuuming and unplugged a cable to plug in her vacuum lol

I just bundled the 2 $30 plans together and pay $55/month + tax for 2 phones with unlimited everything.
Hate dealing with wondering how much I am going to owe at the end of the month.

Wind did slow my data down to half speed for a month though because I hit 27GB of data the previous month. (Left my hotspot on when bell went down overnight with my downloads running.)
