Why DVP so busy these last few days??

Going southbound on the 404 in the morning from Steeles, it's better to actually take the 401 exit and just stay on the left to go to the DVP as there's a bottle neck south of shepherd to where all the cars merge.

Even if you have a passenger, the HOV lane ends up coming to a standstill most mornings, and taking this route saves you a minute or 5. google map link

Noticed how he said morning! in the afternoon this entire area is a parking lot!

Should be marked. I think this piece of Eglington is one of the few HOV lanes where bikes are not allowed at certain times.
On a plus side - restrictions start only at 4PM.

Still HOV - same as Don Mills. Just on certain parts no bikes between I think 4 and 6. Once you pass leslie going east on Eglington - bikes are OK.

when traffic on dvp gets worse, the sikhs will say it's against their religion and an idiot judge will order a special sikh lane built just for them. no one else can use it.

You're kidding right? DVP has been a 24-hour traffic jam for at least the last 12 years.

Nope, really not kidding. Its worse this week. Even coming back uptown at 7pm theres traffic starting at Millwood all the way up until York Mills....not normal!

To vkhamphi: yes I am on a blue gixxer.

Thanks to everyone else for the different routes. I've tried about all of them and will probably do so again if the DVP traffic doesn't improve from this week.

HOV - high occupancy vehicle, ie buses and stuff so still HOV or Diamond lanes as they also called. In this particular case buses and taxis

I ride or drive home from Bloomington till the Bloor/Bayview exit and the other night it took me almost 2hrs instead of 50mins..I have noticed this wk has been crazy.
