Why ducati?

I sit on a Ducati SS and the way the tank rest against my pelvis is a pain. I don't know why they would do that.

I akin bikes like that to Supermodels, good to look at and screw around with, but not they type you'll like a long term commitment to.

I don't buy anything Italian on principle..whenever the going gets tough I expect it to put up its hands and surrender...

Now, what on earth would make you say this?

These threads about 'Ducati' make me laugh......

It's like people saying only 'squids ride crotch rockets'' and blah blah blah or 'everyone owns a gixxer even my grandma' blah blah blah

Or the general non-riding public saying 'motorcycles are so dangerous' blah blah blah

Who cares, riders buy what they like and can afford. And as for the posing, who cares! I've seen 'posing' happen on all makes of motorcycles not just Ducati. Some people get a bike to pose others don't.

Just go out and enjoy YOUR bike and who cares why someone else has theirs or how they use it.

Now excuse me while I go admire my Ducati ;)

I think u missed the point of this thread.
Thought and logic ain't one of 'em :D

How come when everyone talks about getting a bike all they think of is the ducati? I mean am I the only one who never really like them that much? Is like every rider wants to buy a duc, but why?

Don't get me wrong I like the bike and would ride it if I could, but is it really that great? as a bike in general? Is just everyone I know thinks a monster is the s*** and here I am looking at other bikes and finding more interest in other brands...

Is like the canada goose jacket, it is so over kill that it now looks like a uniform...

I mean what is it that people see on them?

They are generally accepted as being very attractive bikes. They also cleaned up for many years in world superbike racing.

Every day that I walk into my shop and see my Aprilia I think I am lucky to have this thing. It sounds like a machine not like a sewing machine. That being said when I here a inline 4 at full honk I get a little tight in the pants. I have had a few bikes so I am speaking form experience. There are a lot more Ducks on the road these days.

When I first got my M1, I noticed every bike on the road - imagining my first ride. The majority of them that stood out for their looks were the Ducatis. They are great-looking bikes.

Related... my buddy chasing various people, but mostly someone who looks a lot like me on my Aprilia Tuono riding a Hypermotard:

Yes, this is his version of part of the raw video I posted up some weeks ago. Around 4:45 is when the hammer gets dropped... :D

Most annoying riding video to date? Yep, I think you win the prize!

I didn't edit it............................ thought that was obvious. Not really to my tastes, but it's his video footage. One of these days I'll clip out sections from the original.

No one ever asks me why about cars but they have asked why Ducati why MV why harley, why whatever bike I'm on..doesn't make any sense either way. People are more comfortable asking dumb questions about bikes I guess
