[h=1]Government to spend millions baby proofing House of Commons[/h]The House of Commons on Parliament Hill is the beating heart of Canadian democracy. It's also a very old building where a baby can hurt itself. That's why Helen Dabney-Coyle has been tasked with baby-proofing this historic building while the house is out of session for the election.
Primarily, Dabney-Coyle will be covering electrical outlets, moving poisonous substances out reach and putting 'baby-bumpers' on hard corners.
"You won't recognize the Speaker of House's chair once I'm through with it."
Pat Kelly spoke with Dabney-Coyle to find out why this endeavour is going to cost Canadians millions of dollars.

"Parliament Hill is a very dangerous place for babies and infants."- Helen Dabney-Coyle, baby-proofing consultant
"Without the House of Commons being babyproof," says Ms. Coyle. "We're denying the opportunity for babies to experience Canadian democracy." Primarily, Dabney-Coyle will be covering electrical outlets, moving poisonous substances out reach and putting 'baby-bumpers' on hard corners.
