Why are the trackbodies fiberglass?

When I was sponsored by suzuki, they insisted that I use stock bodywork in 4 years over $5000 in bodywork destroyed. No sponsor now so I use armour bodies fit well easy to fix and tough.

How did you find something to cover your headlight perfectly like that?

On ebay they sell headlight covers for the 01-02 GSXR600/750/1000. I just asked the guy not to cut the openings for the headlight so I can glue the cover on the front fairing. It cost me half the price compared to the finished product too

Sweet! Thank you =)

Actually, trying to find the 08 version is a bit of trouble. Maybe I'll just take it off and paint over it lol

Just buy some bodywork man.

Just buy some bodywork man.

I don't see the benefits yet.

It'll cost close to $1000 for the superbike set before painting and changing oil becomes a pain in the ***. I'd also have to strip everything off the bike.

Wouldn't it make more sense to do the above after/if I smash everything? Unless you think it's possible to sell damaged stock plastics for over $500.

I can have my belly pan off in 30s. If that's a pain in the *** then changing your oil must be the worst day of your life.

Dropping the lower of a race fairing takes less than 1 minute. That number is consistent with any race bike. OEM bodywork in general is a large pain in the butt to remove. Granted some bikes you don't need to remove it, and you're lucky there, but every time I have to do an oil change on the CBR1000 it's an exercise in frustration.

Have you tried to find a used set of bodywork? Usually sets can be found for $200-$300.

I think the value of race fairing will really sink in when your ball up your minty plastics and headlight, and then realize it would have been a better idea to remove all the expensive OEM body parts and headlights etc.

There are so many companies out there today making race bodywork, you dont have to spend $1000 if you dont want to anymore. Some of my friends are using used bodywork they bought for $500 or less, some even come already painted with a decent paint job

The last set I sold I think I got $400 for them, they were damaged from a low side but still very usable without even having them fixed, just some scratches and a crack or 2. I had trouble getting $400 for them, the owner paid $1100 and paid $500 to paint them. Sold them to someone on here eventually, Im use they got some good use out of them

I think I can have all my bodywork off in a minute maybe 90s, 2min and I'll have the tank off too.

I would sell off the oem stuff and use the money towards some used track stuff. It's not completely necessary but it makes life a hell of a lot easier when it comes to doing any actual work on the bike.

Now you're just showing off. My belly pan is held by 4 1/4 turn fasteners and two screws. Would take me a solid 5 minutes to take everything off the bike.

While we're on this topic, if anyone is looking to have their race body work repaired/painted, solid or multi coloured, PM me.

Thanks for the info guys. Long winter...I'll figure it out then. I suppose if I ever sell the bike...having stock fairings would be very useful

5min! You stopping for lunch?

Unless i see a lap timer I don't believe the 90 seconds :)

Don't waste your time, take it from us who have crashed (all of us lol) get track body work.

I have track body for 08-10 you can have for free. It needs some tlc but you have all winter. Came from snipes 20, 1 low side at mosport.

wow, grab the free offer from gsxrguy! nice offer gsxr guy.

you can use the stock bodywork if you want, it sounds like its in rough shape anyhow. but, as everyone is saying FG body is best.

however, i once ran an rg250 w stock plastics done up in a pepsi suzuki motif paint job for 7 friday practices, 13 qualifying races, 13 finals, no problem. the trick is - dont crash.
