haven't seen one of those with quality above the wallyworld level
sound reproduction would be garbage
haven't done my own for awhile
but used to use my old pioneer turntable with RCA connectors into a turtle beach sound card back in the day
end result was fantastic quality .wav files, but they were huge, before the days of mp3 or flac
after flac was around I just downloaded

I recorded my LPs with RCA connections too. Dumped my .wav files and just kept the mp3. I'm no audiophile obviously.

There are many quality old turntables out there, not so much with newer stuff without spending some significant coin.
Most old std turntables need a dedicated preamp to work with equipment made in the last 20 years as well. Here's what I recommend as the best value (great quality and not big $$) out there. This will allow old turntables to be used on newer equipment, and one can rip vinyl to any digital format, including FLAC. It's a nice setup, especially for the price.

It will work with a variety of sources too. At the risk of dating myself I have some great cassettes I will rip at some point.
I remember the .wav days. MP3 at 320 mbps is a reasonable compromise imo. I'll work with most anything for some good music.

And $20 more than the Note in Canada which Robelus will probably round up to $50 more just because they can (probably $1399).
If you're spending $1300+ on a phone, +/- $20 isn't remotely close to a deciding factor.

I don't disagree with you. Again Apple is very good at marketing, though lately their spin or sales pitch comes out as being lame instead of innovative.
My point was why quote me, and respond with something not totally irrelevant to that particular conversation. To me it was totally random and incoherent. (Not referring to your post but why I responded previously)

Ya that is pretty bad on Apple. Not something they normally let happen, but twice in one event. Ouch!
One can get the S8 which is virtually identical to the Note, less the stylus, for 100's less.
The part I can't wait for....
Watching iPhone X owners gush over wireless charging, bezel less and edge screens, glass backs, OLED displays and longer battery life.

I follow any of the news but, I thought I heard that face recognition unlocking is the ONLY option? Lol. Saw on Insta a pic of Rocky before and after a fight...wasn't able to use his phone. Uh, no thanks.
I wonder how well it would have worked for me? Coming out of surgery my eye was swollen and half my face was limp for a few days. Had to stay face down for a week. My phone was the only thing I had to keep me sane.....
I use a numerical lock code. And just realized yesterday that I can set up an option that randomizes (is that a word?) the numerical order for security.

Many people type in pin codes from muscle memory, they would be annoyed if they actually had to pay attention.
On a phone, i want to be able to easily unlock it. I wouldn't want it to randomize the order for the same reason as above. I use pattern unlock because it is simple to do without looking and hard for other people to copy even if they watch you do it (did I go down and then over or did I go diagonally?).
I still think a multi-factor authentication should become more popular. Along the lines of the more your face looks like you the less of the password you have to type. Nobody should be able to steal your full password as you would almost never type it. A photo by itself couldn't unlock the phone as you need some of the password.
