Why Android is better than iPhone.

What are you using xbmc on the ipad for? if it's for streaming video over a network i found viPlay to be great... I'll use it to watch movies in bed with the iPad... it was worth the couple $ it cost for the full version

I came to the same conclusion last night and updated. Setup Plex on my server and downloaded the app. Works great and streams my database over the net. Plex only works with MP4's as my server can't do transcoding, got Nplayer for those files that Plex won't do.

Just got Nexus5 from Rogers store to replace my 3.5-yr-old iPhone 3GS. I was happy with iPhone, pretty sure I'll be happy with Nexus.

Viplay seem to work with them all except I've had issues with playing back DVDs copied straight to the hdd and not converted to a single file

Nplayer does the same, but the advantage of XBMC or Plex is the pretty interface. Plex is really cool in that it can stream your media from your server to any device with an internet connection running Plex. Should have installed it a long time ago.

that is pretty, i like all the sumeries, don't think my server (a nas box) could run plex though, not sure if plex is available for the western digital either, reason I got the wd live tv over the apple tv was the WD would let me play stuff right off the nas with out messing around with any fancy itunes or what have you

looks like viPlay is now free... https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/viplay/id622191019?mt=8

A Raspberry Pi or Pogoplug running Archlinux is cheap and can function as a nas, plex server, sickbeard/sabnzbd/transmission downloader. It really is worth the hassle to set it up.

have a dns323 right now that i've been meaning to find the time to sit down and install the transmission downloader on, since that's where all my downloads end up anyways... I like how transmission can be set to only download during certain times and i have unmetered during 1am-6am... I have enough stuff I haven't watched in my dvd and on the server that i never have to worry about watching stuff on demand...

Heads up, the Plex app is $2 for both iOS and Android. Good deal

Thanks for the heads up..just purchased a couple seconds ago. Only yesterday i checked, and was iffy to buy, bought now.

I myself downloaded Plex for Mac and Apple TV2 years ago, but never touched it until this weekend, because of XBMC.
I still have XBMC tho.

Finally got myself a Nexus 7 today.

Android is better than the iOS because I am using my PS3 controller and playing Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, PSP, PSX, and SNES games on it. This "system" has the second biggest video game library (first being PC master race).

I don't get it. If I wanted to play video games I'd turn on a system and play. What am I missing? I still must admit now that I've had more time with my note 3 I like android much more.

Not much. I just like the idea of a handheld capable of playing a bunch of older games without some crappy onscreen controller.

...it's also a great way to slack off lol

This is all very important to me personally.

As it should be.

You should only buy things that other people proclaim are the absolute best in the world. Don't even bother to buy something you like for xyz reasons. Go with the mass opinion.

I always think androids are usdm cars and iphones are jdm cars.
One has a big engine and a lot of features and the other an engine half the size that can keep up.
Theres the raw power and theres the r&d. You get what you pay for and what suits your personality.
Apple clearly has the better tech. Google overwhelms apple in terms of what it offers to consumers.

Go ahead and compare the 5s and the Galaxy S4 for us.
I am interested in knowing this better tech part.
Also compare the new Kindle Fire HD to the Apple iPad Air tablet.
