Who's with WIND/ Mobilicity/ Public Mobile

Got on the Mobilicity Friends and Family plan for $35 last year.
You get what you pay for, I'm more than happy with the service, have coverage wherever I go, and when I'm outside of the Zone, I roam on Rogers' network at $0.20/min to anyone in Canada (which is ironically cheaper than when I was with Fido and went outside of the city; same network).

If you rarely leave the city, then WIND or Mobilicity are a great value for your money. I've found that with Wind your data speeds are better and larger 'zone' whereas with Mobilicity the voice calls are crisper and clearer. I've been using the phone for over a year and only had one dropped call.

If you still feel uneasy about thew new entrants, Koodo (telus) or Solo (Bell) are good alternatives. If you go to their stores, ask for their un-advertised plans. You'd be surprised what's available.

iPhone 4S has 2 antennas now.

I've had pretty great success with WIND, been almost a year. Can't complain about reception its been good for me only thing I have trouble with is not receiving pic messages they're not getting compressed properly or something but I can send them fine lol

Anyways $35 for unlimited data/talk/text/whatever to Canada and the US from a home zone is unbeatable and wind has been expanding rather aggressively.

I activated my Nexus phone with wind last week, and so far it's great. I still have my N8 on rogers and i get dropped calls every day, even when my nexus was on rogers I got dropped calls every day, so far with wind never dropped a call, and the best part, I had terrible reception in my house with Rogers, and Bell, but with wind I get great reception, even in the basement. $29 for unlimited calling, text and data what a great deal. I use my nexus as a wireless hotspot every where.

Get City Fido. $35 for unlimited calls. They use the Rogers netowork, so reception is way superior than any of the newcomers. Their "home" zone is waaay bigger too.

why pay $35 and get no data. I get unlimited talk, text, data for $29. Rogers reception isn't superior, like I said, I get dropped calls every day on rogers, but so far none on wind, and the reception in my house is 10x better on wind, then rogers, or bell.

The $29 is a promotion for 12 months. It's going to cost $45 after that.

Wind may be upgrading their network in the GTA, but I went to Blue Mountain with a friend recently and she did not even have reception up there.

No good if you leave the city imo.

my money is on, cheap unlimited plans will be the norm in 1 yrs time. The other good part is no contract, if for some reason I end up not satisfied in a couple months,I go else where, none of the Rogers cancellation fees. Still is a win win situation. I am rarely out of the gta. I am paying 50 a month for going over my min, so for 29 I get unlimited,a savings of 20 a month, and I get so much more, even if I keep my Rogers phone for the full contract I am saving.

Well said. The pluses and minsues are well laid out in this thread. If you're in the GTA most of the time, it can work for you. No contract..12 months..the wireless world could be entirely different in 12 months and it's easy to jump ship if there are better deals around.

I'm with mobolicity and I'm using a BB curve. Been with them almost 2 years. In the beginning it was rough. But now I'd say they're the same as rogers (my old phone co.) Taxes in I pay $44.98 unlimited EVERYTHING. I've gone to the states, and if you manually choose T-Mobile its still all free, I've been to Burloak furthest west and still had rteception, Just North of King on the 400 and to Westney road out east.

They don't advertise those boundaries but the zone is getting bigger and bigger. I get dropped calls sometimes around the CN tower but I got that with rogers also. And I'm not burning minutes to call people back so what does it matter. I was with rogers for 7 years, I asked for 500min instead of the 200 I had and they told me they wanted 7 more dollars and a 3 year comittment.

I don't care who you end up using but **** the big 3!!!!!!

Regardless of WIND or Mobilicity, once you leave the 'zone' you roam on the Rogers network. You just have to make sure your phone is in 'Automatic' mode when it comes to it's Antenna other wise you manually have to switch to 'Away' or 'CDN Roaming' depending on who you're with. I've never had trouble getting reception anywhere I used my Fido phone before. In fact, at $0.20/min it's cheaper calling from my cottage than it was when I had my Fido and Rogers plans.

YMMV.
