my contract with Rogers has come to an end and I'm seriously considering moving over to one of these three, rather than give my money to the robellus cartel.

any positive/ negative feedback? there price plans can't be beat. Mobility has data/text/talk for $20..
i talk a lot on my phone and text probably 300 texts a month. I use data rarely, will maybe open a browser if I'm bored waiting for someone

i rarely leave the GTA (maybe a couple of times a year outside of work), so thats a non-issue for me

I have one phone with mobilicity and one with WIND.

I live in scarberia and don't have much issues with reception now. It was horrible at the start of this year, but has significantly improved as they upgraded their networks and put up more towers. Only time when there is problems if it's behind thick walls since the frequency they use has a problem penetrating walls.

Been with rogers bell and telus and I'm having with the savings.

If you're a data user than do yourself a favour and buy a tmobile phone from the US and use it with wind/mobilicity.

tell me more...
whats the advantage of buying a Tmobile phone from the US, rather than just buy a BB or Google Nexus from Wind/Mobilicity to use with the data?

Only advantage a tmobile phone was that it a top of the line phone which won't get released for a while for these companies for a while. I was a heavy data user which included work + mobile browsing + multimedia so I wanted a dual core phone. Options on this side of the border weren't as appealing so with the excellent exchange rate I bought a US phone and I got waved through the border so I saved tax etc...

I just switched from Rogers to Wind..have to say, as bad as Rogers customer service is, Wind is sometimes worse. Tried to get a tech issue sorted out and had to get the information from Rogers to tell Wind tech how to fix it. Bit frustrating. But Rogers drove me slowly insane. Wind is alright but the coverage is pretty limited. I was up at 401 and Winston Churchill and I was roaming. I sort of backed into Wind ...I actually wanted to switch to Koodo because they have better coverage, half-decent non-data rates (no cost long-distance in Ontario, unlimited text) but my phone didn't work on their network. Having said that, Wind has been fine otherwise.

On a side note..it took 45mins (!!!) on the phone for Rogers to bundle my wireless and cable. It took 15mins for my insurance company to get the details of my not-at-fault collision, get me a repair place, book me a rental car and waive my deductible. Hate on car insurance if you want, but my insurance company ROCKS!! :-)

ended my 7 year relationship with my old bell corporate plan for mobilicity... i payed about 500 up front and they gave me a year of unlimited everything service and a blackberry curve for free. when the year is over its pay as i go or go some where else.

I locked into the $40 plan last festivus knowing that it wasn't going to be worth the service at that time. I know in a year or so that is going to be worth it. Right now it's worth it as I get great service (don't know about tech support never call them but haven't heard good things either).

$40 is my life time plan. I already save $20-$30/mo on my bill so the savings are totally worth it. I don't have to count minutes and look at how much I texted or worry about watching porn/stream movies at work cuz I know I won't get billed for it. That feeling = win.

Wind mobile customer service is a nightmare. I never thought it could get worse than the customer service i have received from Rogers in the past, but be very careful with Wind. They have been stealing outright from my sister because they suspended a monthly credit she was receiving due to an error on their part. They don't have any way of resolving a dispute. You call, wait on hold for about an hour, explain your issue to 3-4 different people. Eventually you are told they cannot do anything for you and that a manager will call you back in a day or two. A week goes by. Rinse and repeat. At the end of it, you are held hostage - pay the elevated monthly charge, or they suspend the service.

With wind, you get what you pay for.

Would NOT recommend wind.... good luck in your search.

This is disappointing to hear :(

Been with mobilicity since July. If you rarely leave GTA you should be good to go. The customer service is pretty good too, none of that automated machine garbage you get with rogers

Wind isn't so bad!
Actually I haven't had any issues when it came to customer service!

I signed up this time last year and got the holiday plan.
$40 unlimited everything, long distance Canada and USA, unlimited data, text, etc...

I rarely leave the GTA so reception is not much of an issue.
I'd say go with Wind based on my experience but don't limit yourself.

Good experience with GTA coverage, never had any issues with the customer service. All in all, Wind seems to work fine. Never tried Mobilicity.

i had Wind. friend had Mobilicity. both suck in Brampton. Wind goes out of range in my home which is well within their coverage area. customer service was awesome with Wind though.
now i switched to Chatr. Its expensive than Wind and Mobilicity but no problems with their service at all.

I can't disagree with NP600 other than to say it IS a cheap service for unlimited data etc. But yeah, the customer service was a let-down for me. I suppose part of the attraction is no contract. So I'm going to have a go with it for the next little while (the service is fine for me now that my issues were sorted..) and see what shakes out in the market. And if something better comes along, I'll switch. I have a work phone as well so I still have excellent coverage if I really need it.

I'm with Rogers and I'm sticking with that!!!!!

IS everything included in those $40 plans? Like caller ID/voice mail, etc. etc.? Does it allow for data tethering? I'm paying roughly $60 or so a month for my plan after tax and i've never gone over anything. i have tethering but I haven't been using it much since I bought my gf a wireless router lol. I'm always afraid to try a new place though, rogers gives me %20 off my bill already and i have 6gb data..my gf just went from rogers to fido...got screwed with a crappier plan thats more expensive..now dealing with hundreds of dollars in cancellation fees that were supposed to be waived....some dude from wireless wave lied outright to her. that guy got fired the week after so she couldn't come back to talk to him!

The $29 plan with Wind does include voicemail an CID. By the way, Public Mobile was a mouthpiece from Telus when they tried to legislate Wind out of our market. Had they done it, it would have become easy for the Robellus Cartel to just buy Mobilicity the way they bought Fido, hand it over to one of the Cartel members and continue gouging us the way they have for decades. Having Wind and Mobilicity on the market has resulted in lower rates with everyone. Public Mobile tried to kill that level of competition and for that, those pricks won't get a red cent of my money; I'm voting with my wallet and **** them.

Be careful with wind. I'd love to sing nothing but high praise for them. They have fair prices and and no contracts are great however there are still many areas where you get NO signal. I have a buddy that works for them in their main office in Toronto and he has no problems there. Once he is home here in p.c. he get very little to no signal and drops out alot. However I was informed by him that wind is going to go tooth and nail to snatch up one or more of the uhf spectrums that are going up for auction next year. These spectrums broadcast through walls, tunnels apartment buildings. Once they got one of these there will be no stopping wind from being a top provider. Cross your fingers!
