Glorious day for early March.

Snapped at "cliche" corner.

Every time I go through that area, I feel sorry for the person who built the house at the top. Weekends and summer evenings must be a constant symphony of cars and bikes engine braking down the one side, then accelerating around the corner and up the other.

You know winter is done when you hear motorcycles zooming at midnight.

See you all next winter to discuss salts and fuel stabilizers.
I tell my non motorcycle friends, that is the sound of summer.

I stopped using fuel stabilizers years ago, this year I didn't even put the battery on the charger.

I bought one expecting I'd put away the bike for a couple of months being my first winter and all. Didn't even get to open it 😬

I'm going to use that- "sound of summer". Nice line.

Same here. Havn't bought Stabilizer for years.

A dude crashed on his bicycle a few years back... i'm guessing target fixation going full speed to keep. My friend and i we're first on the scene and she had first aid so she stayed...luckily next group that rode by had a dr... but it wasn't pretty.

Otherwise, i LOOOOOOVE that road... and further west there are some nice lil twisties

Any salt up in the Bobcaygeon area? Thursday looking ok so I figured to head around that area in the afternoon.

Sorry, just saw your reply. Roads were good all up that way honestly. Lots of dust, maybe some salt dust mixed in, but meh. My bike needs a wash but I'm coming up in 1000km for the season already in the second week of march, so no complaints.

Looks like it's back to winter next week though, looking at the forecast. I hope everyone got their fix this week.

It sure would be nice to get a day like yesterday on a Saturday. I got out after work but just for a little loop up through Port Perry....had I'd been off or it been a weekend I'd seriously have been looking at an Algonquin loop.

Both are cheap insurance, I see no reason to stop either even if my bike is only sitting for 2-3 months between jaunts anymore during the worst of winter. A sticky or clogged injector is an expensive fix, and a battery that lasts a bunch of years less than it otherwise might have for the sake of not using a tender isn't the cheapest of fixes either. My $10 bottle of stabilizer has down both bikes for 3 winters and counting now, and I picked up a tender for $25 10 years ago and it's still doing it's thing, I just rotate it between the bikes every few weeks through the winter now.

Lots of snow and ice still on the lakes up off the 118. 507 is clean. I got 400km in today. Couple atv trails, a run down the 507, and played on an old motocross track. No disappointment with this Super Adventure.

I guess we're getting to the point where it may be time to put this thread to bed and start a 2024 Ride report thread instead as it seems the season is more or less upon us.

Usually after Easter is when the weather really starts to turn.

It's kinda turned already, I've been out riding for basically a month now. Looks like a bit of a retreat in temps next week, but that'll be short term.

When you're a motorcyclist:

"Let's go out for lunch."
"I know a place, it's only a couple of hours away!"
"OK"

Stopped on the highway as construction crews cleared a landslide.

Bored.

Took pictures...

Hit 16°C briefly. In March!

Noice.
Whenever I see that RS I want it!

I think I actually inherited that bike.

Ever since she got the Expedition, Neda never rides it. I've put more mileage on it the last 12 months than she has...

It's relatively comfortable and has really great handling. You can hang off it quite nicely in corners.

IMHO, it's the gold standard for sport-touring.

Tuesdays overnight forecast has improved drastically to "chance of flurries" now from "snow".

I'd like to say we're dodging a bullet, but the whole week swings back and forth between above zero and below zero with rain and "chance of flurries" most days, so ugh....looks like we may not have seen the end of the salt yet.

<Recites quietly to self...."It's only March.....it's only March.....relax....it's only March>
