Hey Tom, I've been curious with all the riding you do how much time do you spend on maintenance? I imagine it must be quite a bit and you must have a routine to keep on top of it? And new tires each season?
Still have to get to NWT, Yukon and Alaska. Most likely next year l, small chance for this year.

I typically go through 4 rear tires and 3 or 4 front tires ever season. The way I have been maintaining my chains (until my current bike) has allowed my chains to last over 80,000 km so a new chain roougly every year and a half. Front and rear pads when I need them. Not really a ton of stuff but I do make notes in a spreadsheet when I do stuff.

Surely you have to adjust valves?
Huh good winter riding conditions????Go for it, this is the last of the good winter riding conditions right now, even the lake is a blast, I had the Montesa pinned in top gear today lol no idea how fast that is but it was invigorating and cold on the face.
For sure, this has been the best year for winter riding I can rememberHuh good winter riding conditions????
Bah you trials people (I still haven't figured that out completely) the REAL good riding weather will soon be upon us, is that bad for you?For sure, this has been the best year for winter riding I can remember
Yes, it's called blackfly season and for about 2 or 3 weeks you won't be able to stand it outside no matter what you are doing. It's horrible.Bah you trials people (I still haven't figured that out completely) the REAL good riding weather will soon be upon us, is that bad for you?
lol That would be stupid fast on the lake but you would never be able to ride it back off my lake afterwards, the hills are too steep and snow is still too deep. Most of the lake surface snow melted and turned to ice, there's better then 18 inches of ice here now.My buddy told me he saw a studded up R6 running on Cooks Bay this weekend. That would be fun.
